I believe the space between the top mark and the bottom one is the equivalent of 1 liter. If so then you've consumed about a half liter or liter in about 500kms. Quite high indeed.

The electronic measurement is very sensitive. Check the manual dipstick as well to coroborate your findings.

Are you under warranty or flying solo now?

I drove ~8k kms last summer and my oil level didn't drop a bar on my 997.. Your oil gauge is dropping faster than your fuel gauge

Is it time to get a different dealer involved. That kind of consumption is not normal.

Mike McCarthy at Pfaff just emailed me back. He is out of town but told me if I want to bring it in he will give them a heads up to take care of me and not to worry as they will take care of it.

Had several issues with my CPOed 997 over the first 2-3 weeks of ownership (I too purchased from Pfaff). They took care of all my concerns (paranoid or not). Nobody's perfect but they've done a pretty good job. You've got CPO so you're covered. Make sure they give you a good loaner, I had a Cayenne S for a few days when they were troubleshooting CELs. They'll also arrange swapping cars if you can't make it to the dealer etc.

I just dropped it off. They gave me an S4 as a loaner. Said they will thoroughly check it out, including scoping the cylinders. Now I wait.

My bet is that he will have the loaner for a little while and get a new engine.
