I am sick of Rogers (sorry Ronan)
they have the worst customer service in the world. No other company has even come close to the levels of bad service they provide.
curious if any of you guys have bell and if you like it. or any other service you like. I need sports so I can't go to free hd antenna alone. |I need tsn and sportsnet probably leafs tv.
I had Bell for 7 years. No real issues but I'n not really picky. The only issue isI have is that you have to get packages and can't pick individual chanels. So I had to sacrafice Speed for Treehouse! I don't have an HD receiver so I can't comment on that.
I just don't call Rogers anymore. I've spent hours on hold with them, litterally. I'll leave the phone on speaker and start watching a game on TV. On a good day, someone picks up before the second period starts...

rogers also seems to be more expensive....just looked at my bill over $200 per month for intenet, 1 hd pvr and 1 pvr can do the same for under $100 from bell.
would like to cut the cable.
I think I am going to try tech savvy for internet,
Bell had great programming until they lost HD net last month. That was the the best HD channel they had. Also often times the satellite signal cuts in and out.
Bell is great, as mentioned by Chris the only downside is rain/snow fade on occasion - it doesn't happen very often but it does nonetheless. I've heard Bell is however in the process of rolling out some new receivers/dishes that will completely eliminate this problem and then Rogers will have no defense.
Only catch: it needs to be available in your area (select areas of Toronto and Montreal only for now).
Disclosure: I don't have it yet (I can't get it where I'm at but can and will at our new home). They're also a client of mine but others I work with have it and love it. Good hardware and software. The Rogers stuff is atrociously archaic.
As for the service, it all sucks guys, the grass is rarely greener. FWIW Dan I'm on TekSavvy. Good service, fair speeds (no where near as fast as Fibe though )and prices.
Bell HD TV an Interweb has been good to me and family... no issues to report. I once had bad customer service, hung-up, called back, stated the issue and they made up for it... but then again when I had Rogers mobile, the customer service was good to me as well.

+1 to this. I estimate that I would save around 30$ a month switching to Fibe from Rogers Cable. Just waiting for it to become available.
Is TekSavvy one of the companies that provides their interweb from Bell (i.e. like primus, who has to rely on Bell for the DSL line.)
everyone has poor customer services these days, have you gone to the Strippers lately?
i have had Rogers for 10 years now and there is not been much need to call them for Support but when i do i get served right, never had issues... I dont like Bell because its Satilite and you lose connection half the time
Boy are you guys lucky you're not out in BC where our choices are Shaw and Telus. Can't decide which one gives worse service/response but a guy can grow very old waiting for either of them to answer/respond.
I'll never ever go back to bell because of their horrendous telemarketing. $1.3 million. And yes, their customer "service" is terrible. At least, it was when we were with them several years ago. I don't imagine it's improved much, if their marketing strategies are any indication.
I have Shaw (previously Starchoice). They allow you to pick one channel for $2.50 or 2 channels for $2.99 so you can add ones that aren't in your package without having to buy a bunch that you don't need. I have the usual satellite issues though, odd time I loose signal due to weather etc. I added Movietime and BBC Canada (for Top Gear ).
