Was the federal luxury tax amount on your initial Offer to Purchase $0.00?
Hiya, I'm buying a c2s that I configured from factory and am taking delivery this week in British Columbia. I received my final Offer to Purchase today and was taken aback by the considerably higher total purchase price, despite the lower MSRP (took out some pricey options). Turns out that the initial Offer to Purchase from six months ago had the luxury tax at $0.00, with the new one including ~$17k in luxury taxes.
Is this a normal procedure at Porsche, to omit calculating the luxury tax in the first contract? Feels heavily misleading, and it leaves a sour taste. Initial Offer to Purchase Final Offer to Purchase

When you saw the initial offer didn't you question the omission or did you believe you were getting a freebie?

This. Your dealer may have made a small error on the paperwork but you should have known you'd be getting a hefty luxury tax bill. If you build your same car on the Porsche configurator you will see the luxury tax is included too.
Could however depend on when your initial bill of sale was put together as they didn't have the luxury tax in their system until a few months after the launch. If I recall my Macan did not include it and they had to wait for a software configuration update to add it in a subsequent version.. and even then it was incorrect and eventually adjusted. Thankfully it was only around $1k though.
Absolutely ridiculous $65K in taxes ! About 36% of purchase price!
This is what happens when we have socialist governments at provincial and federal levels. “Let’s make the rich pay a little more” Is this what Freeland likes to say?

THIS
But also, what's with that double/triple/quadruple dipping on dealer prep, documentation fee, destination charge, and then freight and pdi...I'd tell them to pound sand on a everything but the freight/pdi, my dealer didn't charge any of those extra BS fees. Just had freight $1500, pdi $1495, $20 for tires, $100 for AC, $10 for OMVIC...that's it.

It won't change under a Conservative government because they too are "socialist" for all intents; they're trying to buy votes from the same people as the Tuvix Party (Liberal/NDP fusion.)
For insurance, I was quoted $2433 for basic and $4359 for special risk (collision + comprehensive, $3100 deductible), So in total $6792 for my 2024 C4gts.
My driver factor is 0.595, but I do add a second driver which has a higher driver factor which increase the price by hundred bucks.

That's really expensive for a C4GTS. I'm paying roughly the same for my Urus Performante and it's valued at over $500k.

If you're so sour and think they are misleading you, walk away from the sale?
Yes, I am so sour as you say that I will walk if they don't remove/reduce any of the BS fees or give service credits as a show of good faith. It's a matter of principle. The most expensive car I bought before was a little under 120k, so the going PST rate for it was 10%. I mistakenly assumed the luxury tax was a provincial tax since I did not know there were car sales tax brackets, and the PST was unusually high at 20% for the 911.
Listen, I'm not blameless here either, but I just think it is the dealership's duty to disclose and calculate ALL costs/fees from the start; just as it quite clearly states in the disclaimer of the build sheet given by the dealer. It's these guys' entire jobs to sell and handle cars, and most people (and courts) would agree that the vendor's responsibility to fully disclose this kind of information massively overshadows the buyer's responsibility to know these things. I just don't see the need for insults here. As someone else said it's lousy from the dealer at best, deceptive at worst.
