Was the federal luxury tax amount on your initial Offer to Purchase $0.00?

Well, if it make anyone feel better about paying the lux tax I've decided to sell all my NVDA today.
The tax bill alone will scar me for life but I just can't take this 1999 behavior anymore...

I think it'd be tough to walk away due to $1,000 after waiting what I presume was a long while. That said, I wouldn't have even made the order with that amount of BS fees.
Let us know what happen in the end.
Also, did they make you put down a 23k deposit??? Is that normal? That seems nuts to me...

I was wrong about the GST amount being incorrect. Still ridiculous that I'm being charged tax on tax. Is this even constitutional?

A quarter million dollars for a 911 is nuts (to me), but you have to think this manufactured inflation will continue to make interesting older models more valuable.
At some point soon when a non-GT 911 breaks $300K, what will a nice 993 be worth? An early GT3? Not selling of course, but you have to wonder.
But I do hope the original poster gets this resolved to their satisfaction. Dealers, ugh.
Cheers

$50 to the OpenRoad Foundation - Are they forcing you to "donate" to their charity as part of their ADM? Or did you agree to this?

As an aside, while I appreciate the financial due diligence it sort of feels like you're missing the point on why one buys a 911. It is there as a source of enjoyment and a non-logical use of funds... to argue over an extra couple grand on what should be a source of relaxation + enjoyment feels off to me. But to each their own of course...

Good luck with that. Let us know when you get your deposit amount back.

IMO if that amount actually makes a material difference you shouldn't buy it in the first place... or if that $1k-ish causes you to sour on the whole situation, you're probably thinking about life the wrong way.
Just my opinion of course... and that is said by someone who is famous for always pushing for a deal or discount. Some times the illogical, price insensitive move is the right one.
That said I also impluse bought my RS so take that with a grain of salt...

Assuming that you selected something that you wanted from the tekequipment catalogue for that $695, I don’t see anything wrong with those dealer charges other than the $50 donation. The problem is that your dealer is breaking down the descriptions further than most. PDI is domestic freight, dealer inspection/installation of minor parts shipped with the car and preparation for sale. This usually ranges from $1295 thru $2495. Mine was $1995. Your total for these items is $2,235. Everyone charges admin fees now…mine were $495…yours $499. Freight is set by Porsche. So, nothing really unusual here.

Crazy that 40% of the 248,717 is purely fees and all taxes. Bananas.

A couple grand more on a $200k+ frivolous toy meant to provide enjoyment, absolutely. You're already pissing away $200k+ on something completely unnecessary as is so what is a little more.

As for the dealer markups, they're getting a bit greedy with them. They shouldn't be tacking on a dozen things and the last couple dealerships I've dealt with don't do it.
