In my opinion, based on my own conspiracy theory, Canadian luxury/supercars were some of the cheapest in the world, which is why I believe the Federal luxury tax also received backing from the manufacturers. US dealers didn't like cheap Canadian cars flooding the market pre-COVID, and now, if you compare prices with the luxury tax + dugies, most cars are on par with US cars
That's not the way math works. CamsPorsche said 40% of 248717 which means 0.4 * 248717 = 99487.
You are adding 40% of 177K. It's either 40% of 177K or 26% of 249K.

You are correct, the way he put it was incorrect...the reality however is that it's 40% of 177k which is nuts.

Forgot about my thread. I have to admit there was a lot more emotion than necessary before, but they did not screw up as hard as I originally thought. I didn't know that in British Columbia, if a car is taxed 15-20% PST, there is additional GST charged on top of the PST. So I did not get wrongfully charged 5% extra GST on $36k of PST. This is my first time buying such an expensive car, so now I know.
Anyway, finalized my deal and picked her up today; $1500 msrp as a good faith discount and $400 in gift shop credits. Came out to around $2.9k of cash savings in the end. Not as much as I hoped for but it was good enough for me to not forgo this car. The 4km drive to the ppf installer blew my expectations. Amazing car, can't wait for it to finish being wrapped.
Now to sit and watch to see 911 inventory going up in the next few years
