The GT3 is unreal. It really doesn’t feel like any other road car at all.

Also people weren’t joking that it sounds ****in broken at low speeds. The noises the engine makes when in traffic makes you immediately question your decision. But once you’re at speed, it all makes sense again.

Thankfully the partner didn’t mind the noises and we both agree that our brains will eventually tune them out. There is also a small door rattle on the passenger side that is under warranty and I need to get looked at when I’m back in Toronto.

I can definitely see why people would return this for non GT car but for me, it’s perfect. It’s exactly what I wanted. Something that feels extraordinary every time you get into it and turns boring drives into an event.

The suspension isn’t just better at turn in, it also helps you feel the road in ways I never have. Even small peaks or dips in the pavement, you can really feel the car contort and adjust as it goes through them. Feels like a go cart in that respect. I love it and it’s super fun but I can see why those who wanted a more luxurious ride would be left disappointed.
Congrats!

You know what they say around here, photos or it didn't happen. I don't think I've seen a CWM 992 GT3, love the colour. Let's see some photos.

I am "trying" to buy something right now and it's Lol. No negotiation at all. Asking price or get lost. They have had this particular car on the lot since summer. I have been buying and selling cars my whole life. I haven't seen anything like this before. Really bizarre. It's an 8 year old car with 100km. Yea, really in demand stuff.

I don’t get it either. How can they afford to sit on this inventory? I’m watching 991.2 Carrera T’s right now and they have come down around $5k during the past 2 months. However, it boggles my mind that a local dealer has a 2019 with 15k km and they want $10k more than the original MSRP.

I will see how it goes. They still have me waiting around for a final answer. Wearing me down? I don't know WTF is going on. Lol.

A bigger regret is not buying something than overpaying...

Never felt that way…there is always another car. Lost one this afternoon and not regretting it one bit. Probably dodged a bullet and passed on dealing with a ***** seller.

That’s nothing! Bought this 993 in 2016 from BC. Clean Carfax. Sold it to my next door neighbour 2 years later. They tried selling it a few years afterwards and ran a new Carfax. BC info added and now there is a $45k accident on record from 2000!

I offered to buy the car back, but the market had increased enough that they sold it and got all of their money back. It was for sale for $89k at PCO last month. It drove great and passed 3 inspections with no one noticing any damage or the repairs (BC shop, Mantis and PCO).

Reading a few of these posts (hell, it is almost as long as an oil thread ), the daily driver cars I have sold, usually when they are well over 10 years old, go to friends. Even my daily drivers are extremely well looked after with no rust and one of them is now 23 years old with a 997 friend of mine.

But isn't it funny how when someone buys a car it is worth dirt and months later (without any improvements) it is worth the world when they try to sell it.

I assume a paint meter would have caught it?

Nice of you to offer a buyback.

I'd be livid

Absolutely, and the story gets worse…the guy I bought it from was an engineer in his late 60’s. Seemed like a very nice guy. The shop I used for the PPI, didn’t have a paint meter, so I Fedexed mine to the owner and asked him to meter the car. I didn’t ask for pics of the readings - my mistake. He came back and said only the left front fender read high at 9 mils. Ok, so a garage accident I assumed. When I got the car, I metered it myself and got high readings on the roof, deck lid, right door, right rear quarter panel and left front fender. I noticed that the spot welds on the left quarter were slightly different than the right, but couldn’t see any other evidence of repair. I had Mantis and PCO also check it out and everything looked original. So, I assumed it was keyed or something and did disclose the paint work.

The new BC info showed that the car was hit in the right rear quarter panel/door and required a new quarter, door, wheel and a bunch of suspension parts. Door, roof and deck lid all painted.

I had another Rennlister look at a 993 Cab for me in Colorado this week. It was cheaper to buy a $50 paint meter on Amazon US and ship it to him. He had it in 2 days. I got pics this time! I gave him $200 despite him not wanting anything and told him to keep the meter.

The ICBC check on a Carfax is an extra $20. I was thinking why do need that? I know now!
