I am not a lawyer but contracts must have consideration to be legal to my knowledge. what is the consideration for the customer in signing this after they already have a purchase contract? given future allocations?

This is an interesting balance between contract law and maintaining good relationships with the dealer. I'm sure there is a strong legal footing to refuse signing the contract and still accepting delivery of the car. Given the current demand for Porsche products, I'd assume this would drop you to the bottom of the list if you hoped to purchase more vehicles from that dealer, and potentially others. I'd be inclined to not make a big fuss if they carve out an exemption for family transfer, if I was buying it personally, I'd be pretty put off by a company telling me what I can do with my $100k + purchase.

Is there any reason to "maintain good relationships" with the dealer if I don't even live in the area of the dealership?

Does their blacklist span nation wide? I mean, I'm willing to never buy a Porsche again if it comes to it, I refuse to play this game.

Interesting, I just picked up a 718 Spyder and was not asked to sign anything like that.

Moab has the agreement now, curious to see what he says.

Honestly, my whole experience with the Porsche sales experience has been quite disappointing.

I was initially excited enough to put in a second order, but I think this might be my first and last Porsche.

I signed one with my Macan, but it related to exporting only. I signed something similar in the 90’s when Harleys were hot - but again prohibiting export only.

I’m not sure how BMW can put a lien on a car with no balance owing?

Moab got back to me and basically said it's utter horse**** and I have zero obligation to sign it.

SA also called me today and said he was under pressure from his manager.

I told him I'll send him a PDF letter he can show his boss stating that I have no intention to flip it, but that's the farthest I'll go.

im with you on this. The delivery of my rs was the most underwhelming and disappointing experience I've had with cars. The arrogance of these guys (dealers) like there doing you a favour. I vowed to never order a Porsche again and id only own one with a steel key. unless new suv. don't sign.

It's the same mentality with Rolex salespeople and also Birkin bags from Hermes.

Hmmm, I'm in the same stage as you, should be finished being built by end of next week. My SA has not approached me with anything regarding this at all. IMHO, it is of no benefit to you and I would personally decline to sign it.

I guess my C2S is too lowly for them to worry about, hehe
