Dig a hole, pour it into it and it will go back to where it came from.

My dad sent me and my brother out in the good ol days with a 5gal bucket of used oil
and a paint brush, we had about 5 miles of split rail fence.. It never had trouble with bugs or rot..

Probably a sub optimal solution with what we know now...

I had to put a new hydro service in at the cottage. Oil furnace crapped out and I couldn’t get fuel delivered by boat any more. Single hull-bad, condemned.
So I scheduled a new electric furnace to be out in. Electrician would not hook up the new furnace to the 30 y/o panel. New panel scheduled. Electrician would not hook up the new panel to the old service. New service scheduled. New service could not be connected to the old meter. New meter required two new poles to be brought in, at my expense. You know the 4o footers? Cottage is on an island. Not allowed to float them over, as they have some pressure treated coating on them. Not allowed to barge them over, as they were too close to the water. Or I could helicopter them in? My helicopter 🚁 was in the shop at the time, so that was taken off the table. So I borrowed a backhoe and trenched everything in. No pressure treated hydro poles needed.
Gone are the days of painting your fence with your used motor oil.

that time of year again: this is from my local councillor:
I am pleased to announce that the City is returning to a ward-based format for this year's Community Environment Days. Historically, the Community Environment Days in Ward 15 are among the best-attended in all of Toronto. This year, our local events will be held on Sunday, April 10 from 10:00am-2:00pm at York Mills Collegiate Institute (490 York Mills Road) and Thursday, April 28 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Leaside Memorial Community Gardens (1073 Millwood Road).
