An okay in between brake pad is the ferodo ds2500. I drive in the advanced/instructor group and while they don't last as long as a true track pad, I never lost confidence in them. Actually I still have them in the rear and the ds111 up front. The rears have lasted close to 6-7 plus days.

YMMV - these are my experiences and I continue to keep my wife happy. Happy wife, happy DEs.
this strictly a problem with your bedding procedure. if you want to know how to have RS14s run with no squealing, let me know. this is 20 years of using pagid race pads on a bunch of different rotors and caliper styles... the process transends the style of equip... its strictly about getting the pads and rotors mated properly and completely. the wear pattern from the start follows the pad/ rotor life.

Interesting, I have a 991S with gyrodisks up front and now see that they make them for the rear. Would that allow GT3 rear pads?

Agree. I've used them too. IMO they are among the better "combination" pads but they do wear a bit quickly for me at Laguna Seca (fronts: 4 days and 2/3 done); not so bad at Thunderhill. Only a minor squeal in street driving and only during slow speed stops - my experience.

If you run Giro Disc rear rotors you would not be able to run the GT3 rear pads.
The calipers are very different.
THe good news is Ferodo is coming out with the pads for both the front and rear of the 991S in both DS1.11 and DS2500. You will not be stuck with no option but Pagid. I hope to have them in stock by September 15.

That's what I initially had in mind - to switch to DS2500 from the OEM pads first and progress a bit more gradually while learning the ropes in the green run group. They would've been a bit more street friendly/civilized and cheaper (DS2500 runs literally half the price/comparable to OEMs vs 2x for Pagid yellows), but unfortunately they weren't available, so I had to bite the bullet and get the Pagids. No option but Pagid really seemed to be the case after extensive research, but had to get something - I have more track days coming up in short order

Never heard of Ferodo - you certainly have my attention. I've book marked this page so I can come back to it towards the end of the summer when you start stocking these. It looks like the DS 1.11 is what I would be after

Ferodo invented friction material in the 1890s. Ferodo is an English company
but their name sounds ITalian and the auto pads are made in Italy so most
(including myself) thought they were an ITalian company. Further confusion is the founder, Herbert Ferood, somehow had his name changed to Ferodo along the way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferodo
Ferodo was the brake provider to Formula One for years. During the late 80s
when I first got involved with POrsche Ferodo was very much a player. During the 1990s Ferodo got caught up in the asbestos lawsuits and went ba, nkrupt....Federal Mogul, a Detroit parts conglomerate purchased them.
Ferodo is back in every way. Of hundreds of PFC and Pagid converts only one has gone back to their former pad. THis tell me a lot. Most GT4 and 991 GT3 track guys are using Ferodo DS1.1
