You should have pulled into the pits immediately and left the track to buy a Power Ball ticket.

That was awesome.

come on dude. its pretty funny!!!!

whats not, is all this crashing.
or the US LOSING IN THE LAST 5 SECOND LAST NIGHT!! I ALMOST YACKED my dinner out!! like a money shift in a GT3RSR and hearing metal bouncing around in your engine/transmission box. or the chief steward saying , "Son, any reason you opted to center punch that guys 993 Turbo?"?

The number of wicked hits I've seen at that spot is incredible. And it's almost always a faster car running up on a slower car who begins their turn into the esses well before there is anyone next to them. I've lots of days at VIR, not as many as Peter, but still more than I count. When I had the open wheel car I came on this situation a lot. It was NEVER worth it to make a pass from a long way back on people going into the esses. Overtake speeds of 20+ mph at the point means you will cover more ground than the guy in front thinks. For the overwhelming majority of racers, the climbing esses are a single file event outside of the first lap it seems.

I'd love to see in car from the fab car but it looks to me like he wasn't necessarily going to make the second turn even if he had made it past the car without incident.
That is how it happened. I would've glady gotten out of his way- braked, stayed right, etc. to let him through had I had notice. He was in my mirror for a microsecond before hitting me. I am only angry at myself for my lack of control after being hit. Realizing that I could've been hit again when I crossed the track in the air is very scary. And I bet I could've stopped the car well before the tire wall. My mistake.

Thanks to Peter for tech support and to Keith Peare for the clutch so I could make the enduro. I came close to getting it in for sprint 2. I hope the car is back together soon. It was a really rough weekend for SPBs
no everyone did not make it through. I am the last car in the video - white 911 with yellow bumper. Red car was backing across track and as I went behind it his rear bumper hit my door and spun me 180.

EDIT: Can you find ones which fit. Get R80s for each corner and go get 'em.

That turbo did the same to me.

How can a car back across a track with the wheels rolling unless the driver allows it to do so?

The question is, then, WHY would a driver allow this to occur?

Again, proper procedures are not reflexive, they MUST be taught.

When you spin, both feet in! (If you have a clutch and a brake pedal).

Real car???!!!
I bought that car off the showroom floor on June 10, 2010 at Arlington Porsche. It is a REAL car with a real VIN and can be driven on the street. lol
I was worried all weekend because the 4 year warranty ran out 2 weeks ago.

Sorry to hear that. I couldn't tell in Cris' video. Nice driving in the black enduro. Sly is getting faster too.

Not sure he could stop it fast enough while it was rotating.
