Frank, It was nice meeting you on grid. Sorry I put you in a bind in 14 a few times and slowed both of us down a little. Hope the shifting tip helps you drive some faster laps. PM me if you would like me to send you some video of your car running the track. I was your personal videographer for a few laps!

Something caused him to stall on front straight coming out of the pits. The field tried to wait a bit but had to go by. I guess he wanted to try to catch up to his original grid spot. You can see I was doing about 100 when he blew by me. I am sure David never saw him as most people aren't looking for someone passing on the Pace Lap before the race.

Last weekend was my first PCA race weekend, my first weekend there with the 996 CUP and second weekend ever at VIR. I did the DE last year for the same event and was promptly hooked on this track. I can't wait to get back again.
I consistently dropped my times all weekend but couldn't quite get to the top three guys. I lost second gear during qualifying on Saturday which didn't help, especially at Oak Tree. I was still able to almost break 2:00's in the second Sprint. With the gearbox issue, I decided not to push the car and do the enduro on Sunday which was a bit disappointing.
For the most part, I thought everyone was pretty aware and courteous. I did witness a couple knucklehead moves. This is the first sprint, first pace lap going down the back straight. GT3DE makes an appearance with a broken Blackie and then.....I am not sure David ever saw how close he came to getting hit.

Wow Steve! That looks pretty wild from your vantage point. I looked back once or twice on the straight to see where you were, but no, I didn't see him coming until the very end. Lesson learned. I heard screaching tires, then looked back to see a very unexpected smoking blue car barrelling towards me, along with a few explicatives in between! You're not allowed to regain lost position under a yellow pace lap. I meant to go and find him afterwards and talk to him about it, but never did.
I had a great time and can't wait to come back next year. Great seeing everybody!
Randy - Greg said he had some great footage of Ron and Angus from the enduro...
