Valencia is a bore! But if Schumi can make the tires work and takes the pole it will be his race to lose. Hopefully the MB won't quit on him again...

Unless it rains (not likely) it's going to be boring. That said, Alonso becomes first 2 race winner of the season and breaks the streak of a new race winner in each race for 2012.

I am taking Fernando Alonso because he is the best driver in the field and his car is improving with each race. He lost in Canada because the team should have changed tires towards the end of the race. Oh well, I still like Perez to be somewhere on the podium

Button to begin weekend with Hamilton’s setup

21 June 2012

After his disastrous run of results in recent races, Jenson Button will start his European Grand Prix weekend with Lewis Hamilton’s car setup. Whereas the latter now leads the championship, the former sits only eighth and is 43 points behind his team-mate.

Having started the 2012 campaign in fine fashion with a win in Australia, Button’s first non-scoring event came in Malaysia; he bounced back with second position to first-time winner Nico Rosberg in China. Since then, he has scored just two points in four races.

“I guess the first thing you do is set up the car like the other car and that's what we'll do initially,” the 2009 Champion is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“There will be settings that Lewis prefers more than anybody else does, because that's how he sets it up; I won't be as quick as him on those settings, but we can work from there and find a setup that works for me. I've won a race this year, won many races before and that's where I feel I should be.

“You do have bad races, so it becomes about pulling together and working out the reasons - and we will. We will understand because this is a great team which has won many races and World Championships and we've won many great races together, so we will work out what the issue is. I will solve the issues, or we will solve the issues together.”

To date, the McLaren driver’s best result on the streets of Valencia is his third place of 2010, having finished behind Sebastian Vettel and Hamilton.

Default PROGRAMING NOTE

The race will be aired on FOX this Sunday and at least where I live, it will be delayed so check your local listings. The pre and post race show will be aired on SPEED as usual.

Jeeez, I hate FOX, they ignore the post race activities and if you go back to Speed, you miss the post race interviews. I really wish there was an alternative. I was in Vallarta during the last race, and the coverage was from Canada. Much better then Speed

Dammit, that sucks.

And to really prove how badly Fox does these things, the fact that out of the few races they choose to cover, Valencia (one of the most boring races of the tear) is one of them...

Impressive Q3 lap from Vettel. But with Hamilton starting 2nd in the race, it is a similar scenario to what happened two weeks ago in Canada.

Seb does that time and time again............sit in the pits until the last opp for Q3 then goes out and blitz the field.....impressive.

With passing at a premium we may have seen all the excitement.............hope Im wrong........go Kimi

I agree. This is the most boring race on the calendar. They should drop it.

Nobody can predict the outcome the way this season is going. I will be pulling for my boy Vettel. If he can do his usual gap the field at the start, he will be tough to beat.

I will be watching Kimi closely also. He is due.
