Apparently Petrov had a meltdown last week when speaking to Russian press about the R31 and the team in general reulting in an appology from both he and his manager. Looks like this will be his last race in a Renault.

Wouldn't is be something if Heidfeld ends up with more points in half the season than Petro in a whole season.

Remember, Petrov has big $$ backers in Russia.

Vettel to put an exclamation point on the season.

Yes, finishing 2nd 2 years in a row is quite an achievement.

It is much more difficult than finishing 1st 2 years in a row, no question.

But, Alonso has done a remarkable job driving for such a backmarker team ... oh wait, he's driving for Ferrari? Never mind.

Don't worry, there is always next year

I think that scandal has blown over. And there are several teams who would be very happy to sign him along with the sponsorships he brings if Renault (or Lotus as they will be known in 2012) decided to drop him.

It's about time, he's done one good thing and that was in last year's Abu Dhabi...
I hope Heidfeld ends up beating him (and quick Nic wasn't tht quick this year either) as that would be a nice example of what you get with drivers who are there only because of money they bring.

I like this race because not counting the Canadian Grand Prix it is the only race on the current calendar where I do not have to wake up really early or stay up really late to watch live. Yes I know I can record the races but for some dumb reason I like to watch them live. Who will win? I don't know ... picking the default "Vettel" option has been a good tactic this season, but I was still wrong 7 times this year. No make that 8 times because I did not pick Vettel to win in Monza and yet he did. I figure it will either be Vettel or one of the two McLaren drivers. Webber is just not the same since his bike accident prior to the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix and Ferrari while competitive still needs the help of the FIA to actually win races in 2011. I will go with Vettel, if I am wrong it really won't matter.

You can always look forward to Sir A.Wayne sending you the bottle for losing the bet

BTW, exactly how many wins does the best driver in F1 have since Silverstone?
Surely it must be more than all of the Faux champions this season

Perhaps this off season, one of the top teams will recognize Alonso's talent and rescue him from that back marker team he is forced to drive for.

Michael, Kimi, Alonso.
2 won WDC with Ferrari, 1 did not ...

How happy would it make some of us if FA's stint at Ferrari ended without him winning a WDC?

Practice 1 ended with Webbo just pipping JB for 1st.

FA blew up his engine.

Both Force India in the top 10 w/Renault and Sauber way behind.

Practice 2 in one hour
