Good race.
Red Bull blew it with a bad stop, but these things happen. Despite giving up 7 points to Alonso, Vettel once again has increased his championship lead. The bad Red Bull pit stop did rob us of a possible fight between Alonso and Vettel, but there was still plenty of other action. Too bad for Button's bad stop too as he would have been there at the end. The finish of the race was hard on the TV director. Who do you watch? Alonso crossing the line? Watch the battle between the two Red Bulls or watch the Hamilton/Massa battle?
On to Germany ...

There is no shortage of fans who want Red Bull to be handicapped and were all too happy when they first heard of the mid season rule changes. Congrats to Alonso and Ferrari for their win today. They had a fast car and had some good luck follow them today (you have to be good to be lucky, and lucky to be good). But allowing mid season rule changes is just ludicrous.

Bit of fun at the end. Congrats to Alonso / Ferrari. Even though they had a bit of luck he was as fast or faster at times.
Webber's patent (or should that be latent) start and understeer throughout the race didn't help. Many pissed off Aussies at the command to stay behind Vettel. He just needed another lap to make it look absurd and obviously staged.
Didn't really help anyone but Vettel though.

Well, congrats to DV and Ferrari, they managed the race really well. I don't think RB had the speed even if Vettel had had a perfect stop instead of that disaster. All in all, a pretty good race.
Re: Rule Change - As Bob Varsha says "What's good for Ferrari is good for F1". Now we know why the rules were changed. Without the rules change, RB would have walked away from the field on this track which rewards aero grip and speed in the long sweeping turns. Oh well, Ferrari paid the vig.
I bet RB redesigns their cars or tweaks it's development before Germany.

"Mark maintain the gap, maintain the gap"
Well that pretty much sorts any future BS conversations regarding team orders being a Ferrari tradition.
Great race good to see great battles.
PS- Still have my doubts about Vettel being able to compete when he is not out in front by 20 seconds.

Have to admit, nice to see someone else win.
Hamilton plowing into Massa in the second to the last corner......thought I was watching the old days of Dale Sr. in nascar......Hobbs said racing incident, stewards may have a different impression. Especially since Hamilton has been a bad boy a few other times this season.

And the debate about Ferrari influencing the outcome of the diffuser ban is also sorted. What a day of revelation.

Funny how there is more animosity between the fans than the actual real teams and their drivers. I saw lots of handshakes and congratulations being offered up right after the race ended by many different drivers. Heck even Vettel said in a post race interview that Ferrari won this race fair and square. Vettel may have surrendered 7 points to Alonso this weekend (while still managing to increase his overall WDC points lead). But he did take home something else from the UK this week. He (until someone else can come along and beat him) is the Top Gear's fastest F1 driver.
