Default Any reports from The Glen?

Would love to hear how qualifying and the sprints are going. Especially E .
TIA

Raced there for the first time last year and loved it. Forecast looks like a good chance of rain today and tomorrow.

Good racing and luck to all.

Heard the rains have held off, and tomorrow looks good.

But that there was a really nasty end-over-end incident in the GT run group. No further details on it, or results in any of the races.

I too heard about the GT crash - apparently the car made it all the way either to or through the catch fencing in turn one, and ended up on it's lid.

I've also heard the driver was conscious but flown to Elmira.

Never want to hear any bad news coming from a race weekend. End-O and fly out are things many of us never want to hear, it makes the little lies we tell ourselves harder to believe.

Best of luck to the drover.

What`s wrong, Mike? Sounds like you jonsing for a track fix? I get that.

Any update on the "incident" please?! I am hoping that all is well and none of my friends are involved.

Charlie walked away from the field in spec box in both races

Great racing in the stock class run group. Karl and Doug were really running hard and fun to watch up front. As was Wally (think that is his name - red RSA I think) who ran up front in both races.

Fred missed a gear at the start of sprint 1 and dropped back to 15th from P2 before coming back to finish 3rd overall and first in E.

Great, tight racing in the 944 group - first sprint race was like watching a swarm of angry bees.

Don't know the racers involved. 2 cars got together in T1 in a big way, one ended up rolling, etc. and endd up on its wheels. Its roof and cage had to be cut off by the EV crew to extract the driver. I am not qualified to comment on his condition, other than to say that I was told by an official that his condition had been upgraded later in the day from critical to serious, which is a blessing. The other driver is apparently OK.

Sadly, as some of us were looking at the cars involved, the Stewards had to chase some picture takers away & demand no photos appear on the internet. Sucks they even have to say this.

Thoughts & prayers to the driver still in hospital.

I didn't see the incident but heard from a first hand account that the car ended up high in the catch fence outside of turn 1 after the two cars came together and the car was launched possibly by wheels coming together

Good seeing you the other day Dave.

Thanks for the updates everyone. (Hiya FA) This is a tough weekend to be sitting home due to family commitments.
Watching Monaco, and Indy doesn't help.
Congrats to Charlie and Fred C. (hope he can get his car fixed for the enduro.)

I probably won't know any more, since I am already back home, but if I hear, I will pass it on.

On a brighter note, in addition to seeing Paolo, Sean, Gary (who was busy), Peter Collins, Charlie Boyer, Colin Mazzola, and a whole raft of other RL friends, I had the pleasure of meeting Fernando Pena, Mike & Margaret Bavaro and some of their crew, the Palumbo brothers (thanks again for the great cookout on Friday night!!), Dan Jacobs, Dan Ryalls, Bill Rudtner, John Behe, Doctor Frank Celenza, Rich Zahn, Cris Brady, Bill & Tyler Comat, and a whole raft of other nice folks!

Did you get a cookie, Dave?

(Hi, Mike!)

I'm not at the track either...I much prefer being there when Charlie is racing.
