The driver was at the driver's meeting yesterday and received an ovation when announced. A big relief as I think many had the same thoughts that I did when I saw the car.

That was a great event! After seeing the car, I was also quite relieved to hear at the Enduro drivers' meeting that the driver was in good shape.

Met VR! He's a nice guy!

My lap times improved all weekend long.

I got scared I saw FredC comin' in my mirrors during the enduro... I started driving like a morron. But otherwise it was great.

Here is the attachment of the ORANGE enduro results.

I gotta say, I'm just a little miffed at these trophies. Is it just me, or is everyone that doesn't win really a "loser"?

Good and bad weekend for me. Qualified P1 in class and 3rd overall for first sprint race after qualifying in the f'ing rain. Had a nice 720 degree spin in the carousel that ended with barely tapping the outside Armco. Definitely felt like the track gods gave me one there and made up for my tire blow-out on the back straight a couple of years ago.

Won the first sprint by pretty good margin and my fastest lap in the race qualified me P1 in class and 5th overall in second sprint. Second sprint was a much better race and Chris Brown, Robert Jarvis and I were having some fun until Chris got into me at Turn 8 ending The race for both of us. My car is pretty bad but certainly fixable. Not really sure the extent of his damage. I will say it was one of the harder hits I've had in racing thus far. The worst thing about it is that the car was REALLY, REALLY good this weekend. I feel like I'm finally figuring the car out since getting it last Fall and now we'll start over a bit.

On a positive note, Chris' reaction after the incident was about as good as you could ask for and he's a VERY stand-up guy. If more people handled things like Chris, we'd all be better off. Thanks Chris!

Ended up doing the enduro in one of my friend's cars ('07 Cup). I started 13th and handed him the car in 6th and that was a fun run.

Good to see all the usual RL suspects and meet Jack, Chris, Paulo and Wayne.

On a final note.... I will say this and it's not sour grapes because I'm not running in the class and they didn't beat me... there are some non-stock GTC3 Cups out there and the scrutineers need to police that class like they did a couple years ago. Look, when I had my 996 Cup I heard the comments from other drivers a lot and I got scrutineered a lot. However, this was the first weekend where I came in close proximity with some of these cars since leaving the class where I was in a superior car (power/handling). In the enduro yesterday, I had several "wow" moments on straights.

I think that was a poor attempt at humor. I won the first sprint and had a DNF in the second sprint and got a "first loser" mug. Totally ridiculous and I threw it away.

I just checked. 2:12.08 was the old E record.

Cut it out, Fred!

Friday the track was faster than the fastest it was last year. Saturday was slower than Friday. Yesterday it was slower than Saturday imho. Friday pm, the track was true speed.

Don't be modest Fred.

A :10 in qualifying.

Insane!

What's your goal for Road America? Also a 10?

+ 1.... They need to take the time to measure cylinder volume. There's many 3.8's running around these days.

Really sorry to read of you and Chris's incident though it's nice to hear your positive responses to each other. Hope you're both back out on track soon....
