Oh really! Then I must have alot of company in the form of all those folks who tape up their license plates at DE's in hopes of not having their car identified as having been on/at the track.

Didn't mean to veer off topic, but it's important and germaine to the risk profile of events, which is what I'm assuming was the motivation for the letter.
As for the original issue, I agree that it's in poor taste to post video of an incident if it's not your own and you're the poster. Not sure how other posts can be regulated.
