Hard to take someone seriously that hides behind the anonymity of the internet. If you have a valid point of view to discuss, let stick to the facts rather than hurl random stones.

Believe that's called an adhominem comment. Unfortunate.

Ahem...
Club Racing SHOULD Equal Gentleman racing.

Those that are caught knowingly cheating for unfair advantage ought to wear a big Yellow "CHEATER" bumper sticker for the next 3 races.

But I think I'm going to get me some of those GTgears stickers... I hear they're worth a second a lap

-great thread...

I've used the HP feature on the traqmate a few times on a couple of different cars. Its been very accurate, surprisingly. But I agree, it is not enough by its self to protest. But it would be a good tool to tip off that a car needs a closer look during impound.

Too tired tonight to respond but will later this weekend, headed for some T&T tomorrow at TWS and then off to a different track on Saturday for awhile. Busy week and weekend too.

I'm guessing that the "clueless" scruits caught at least one.

Can GEICO really save you 15% on car insurance?

You don't really need to cheat in NASA as I see it. The classes are so broad, you can compete as in GTS4 (w/slicks) with a car of say 300bhp/275tq @ 2700 lbs against cars potentially with only 250/230 @ 3000 lbs.
So -300lbs and + 50hp- who needs to cheat!

Just make sure yer the former and not the latter
But if everyone else is 300/2700 that's when the fun (or cheating) may start.

huh? I don't get how that stops cheating, if you're at 12 hp/lb and i'm at 11 hp/lb I have an advantage.

One would only need to cheat in spec or tightly defined classes.
This was a dig at NASA for IMO overly broad classes.

Haven't read the entire thread, seems like a pretty good topic. I had a question that I always wondered about, and whether it was considered cheating. Racing highlights people's need to be competitive. So even if you're not winning a trophy, the need to beat someone else is still a high motivator. My question is: If you're smart enough to find out a loop hole in the rule, therefore using an advantage of "knowledge" and you take advantage of that loop hole, is it cheating? Should you feel guilty for being smart and stop, or can you use you're skill for finding loop holes as a legitimate competitive edge... Just asking...

It seems we are in agreement on this, but my thoughts on this are all the variables that change even in between sessions. Wing angle change , toe (alignment) change, using a "qualifing" engine oil, trans oil, diff oil, or setup, head wind, tail wind, drafting, how about getting a splitter torn off during a session, and the list can go on and on with some even more drastic. All these changes will effect the "calculated" hp levels which you can't compute for and makes the GPS sensor hp calculation then nothing but a guideline in which you can use to look a little further for when you appear to have an outlier.
Of course I do believe that a radar gun at the end of the straights, it's the old fashioned way, would get the job done the same way.
