Do people cheat in PCA Club Racing?

Just brainstorming here...
The idea came from my racing with Skippy where you draw cars by lottery. There were a few 'fat' seat cars in the mix. It was funny when folks thought someone won because they picked a 'fast' car, then pick the 'fast' car themselves and get beaten all the same.

"Short people got no reason . . .
They got teeny little cars that go beep beep beep . . ."
I did NOT use the word fat and I'm proud of my 5'9"; they tell me it means my heart doesn't have to work so hard and maybe gives me an edge in that ultimate enduro race called life. Course it also meant that tall svelt models were always off the list for potential girlfriends when I was younger, but heh there's trade offs in everything . . . even in cheating

Swapping cars is a non-starter. I'm not letting a stranger drive my car.
Swapping ECUs is a good idea for spec classes.

Secondly, it is nice to know that you would not treat my car any different from your car. You also could have made that statement into one sentence.

they used to do the ecu swap thing in NASA Spec E30 years back. it was superceded eventually by dynoing the top finishers at the end of the race. the thought behind it was that the root of the matter was too much power (cheating) or change in gears (cheating) or change in rev limit (cheating) would all three immediately be seen during dyno testing. so, immediately after the race, top cars (plus occasionally a random car or two from the 15-20 car pack) are sent to impound, weighed, and then immediately sent to the dyno to be checked. there is of course a min weight (2700 I believe) and a max hp (161 I think?). the scruts know when the rev limit should hit and the wheel speeds. so while not perfect, I think it covers a lot of bases.

I recommended dyno checks to the tech folks from PCA when I was at PRI in December. The amount of no No NO we can't/won't do that was astounding.
