Default Sequential ignition system from Pauer Tuning

Here is a picture from Vic at Pauer Tuning, this is his sequential ignition system that we are putting on my car. You will see the coil packs are mounted on the cam tower and the cam position sensor mounted in place of distributor cap.
The 2nd picture is of the layout that Vic uses for the ViPec and individual cylinder knock control system.

Some very cool stuff, thanks Vic

Why not remove the door bars? You have the cage for protection?

I had the same discussion with Sloan when I was at his shop Wednesday. We decided to leave them in for now as they offer some support to the door skin. This will help keep the door in good shape in the unlikely event of minor contact.

It would be a good excuse to upgrade to fiberglass doors

My guess is that this motor was built a long time ago perhaps before JME used baffling in the sump...just based on the cheap price of the build (relatively)...and/or someone has taken the baffling out subsequently.

Maybe I missed it - do you know who stripped all the undercoating off the tub and how it was done?

Noel Hall had the idea of using a steam cleaner and Sloan figured out how to get the car on it's side to make doing the cleaning easier.
The work is all being done at Sloans shop, SSI Performance.

It worked real well and we were able to leave a few things on the car like brake lines etc, plus the cost is a fraction of doing an acid dip.

I think the build was 6 or 7 years ago. It did use to have an Acu-Sump which I know is on all Milledge motors.

The rebuild is working out real well as it was also discovered that the oil pick was cracked. So Sloan is going to reinforce that and add a shroud to it when he installs the baffle pan.
Otherwise he said the engine looks in real nice shape, especially as the head had a valve job just before I got it. The leak down test was really good

Default nascar door bars and strut tower to cage brace

Cage work was finished today. The nascar door bars were installed and a brace from the cage to each strut tower was also installed.

I can't believe steam cleaning works on that undercoating. you'd have to wire-wheel it or something else.
my BMW is currently being acid-dipped in Texas for $1600. Way easier and cleaner than wire wheeling it. plus if that nasty seam sealer is still in the seams, it'll contaminate the welds.

cage reinforcements look nice. will it be welded to the A and B pillars?

Gary, NASA rules do not allow you to go through the firewall. From the CCR:

15.6.13 Mounting Points
The roll cage shall be mounted to the floor area of the car in six, seven, or eight points. The cage shall not go through the firewall.

I used a heat gun, 5/8" wood chisel, and a drill with wire brush attachments. Was a rough job. Which is why I was impressed with the underside of Gary's tub. None of the primer coat is scratched off.

The residual seam sealer does cause a lot of weld spatter and porosity. Best to get it all out if possible.

We used 2000 PSI with 200 degree water power washer to remove the under coat. Before welding the seams we take a torch over the area to burn off and under coat that maybe left in the seams.
