Tyre well removed
A nice portion of the tyre well is now removed and a plate welded in place.
This has 2 nice effects. 1st with the aerodynamics and 2nd it gives a lot more room to work on the trans. Some of the tyre well has to remain for the mounting brackets of the fuel tank.

Power upgrades
So far the engine has been taken apart and a few parts replaced. A few interesting observations like ground down balance shafts were found, so seeing how they were no longer doing anything they were removed. The engine was in pretty good shape, leak down which was very impressive and after some new rod bearings, a few seals and minor parts we had a 100% engine .
The exhaust, turbo and wastegate were all shot. So Sloan is building a new exhaust system and installing a Tial GT3071R .82 A/R turbo and Tial 38mm wastegate. This will easily get us in the power range we want to be in.
A comparison picture of the old and new turbo as well as the new wastegate

Can't tell from the photo but there's a good chance that the turbo (which is a very good one) will need a different mount.
Who is Sloan, who does he work for?

Been wondering why there's no car in your driveway, Gary...
Gonna run a fuel cell, not a tank, I hope.
Dare I say that I'm glad you've moved to another class? Gonna be a nice car, no doubt.

GT racing dash
With all the original dash and wiring gone I wanted a simple but funtional dash, the GT racing one seams to be just that. Can't wait to see it in with everything in place.

Drifting
Nothing like new components..... I can only imagine the cost of this project. Probably cheaper to buy a fully race ready Cayman. Sad part is we only get about 25% of what we spend back but the memories are grand....
