Unlike the Mid-O racers, big and tall wings on 944s have not really caught on in the SE. I've been getting a bit of grief over the look, thinking of becoming "BAW (Big A$$ Wing) Racing" It sure seems to work well, a week ago at Barber I ran in NA form on Sunday and was able to run the kink flat out (cause that's how I drive!).

Our goal Jim is 2750lbs and 250whp. 100% right with the wing and splitter, we have them ordered. Here's a pic of the APR wing on someone else's car.
Gary, got a pic of how that apr wing is mounted?

^ +1, also any other details or contact info on that build. Interesting looking widebody work/kit.

Hope this picture helps, my wing should arrive this week. Once it arrives Sloan is going to make a mounting bracket so that it is directly attached to the chassis but through the rear hatch as shown. I have a good idea on how to seal it some what so that when it rains I don't take on too much water in the rear. Once the wing is installed we will see how my idea worked out

So Tim, from one Flat out driver to another, do you 'feel' the difference between this wing and your old one, or is it more that you have discovered that you can actually just go faster through turns? What about terminal speeds, you'd have to think these BAWs must create a bit of drag?

Thanks for that Gary. Are you planning on bolting the lexan hatch to the body or retaining the ability to use the hatch? If so, try and work out how to mount the wing in such a way so that you can remove the actual wing from the struts on the outside and then lift the hatch up. Currently I have to do mine from the inside and it's just not that convenient.

Sloan said he has a way to make the wing detatchable, he seams to like these challenges . I'll take a picture once done.

Default APR wing

If you are mounting the APR wing you can use the rear spoiler as mounting platform with stiffening & mounting brackets. Most mount them through plexi which I will probably get to this winter.

No data from the new car, just the fact I could take a turn flat out (first weekend in car) that I could not last year. My old wing took 5 mph off my top speed at Road Atlanta, yet I took well over a second off my lap record.

Nice work!
However I'm not going to be using the rear spoiler so we have a little project ahead of us.

Got to agree, with a wing, why run the spoiler? It just adds weight.
