Click the circled menu selection on the main page, find the game hosted by Joe Cooley and as long as there is a green arrow next to it (and you know the password) join. Nice thing is the "Shopping Cart" icon tells you what you need to purchase should it be a car or track you don't have.

Was fun, my most spectacular wreck yet and a first of flying into the pits backward and getting a black flag for speeding!!

Anyone know why my mic works in windows, but not in iRacing (and, yes, I've set a PTT button on my wheel...)?

BTW, that was a lot of fun!

Set the mic as the proper source in iRacing? Plug the mic in before you launch the game client and use your windows control panel to set it up.

Go into "Options/Sound" once online at a test track and under the Chat heading there are boxes for playback and Mic. Click on the box for Mic and some selections will appear, pick the one you have set for use in windows. My guess is it defaulted to Line-in or something else.

Are any of you I- Racers using a factory made race simulator? I've searched the net and there are a bunch of simulators to choose from. The units I've seen range from $750.00 up to low 4 figures. I'd love to get feedback on what sort of set-ups you're racing with.

Thanks!

Regular desktop here Joe, 22" flat CRT and set of Logitech G25 wheels and pedals. I modified the wheel to accept the Momo from my car, but that's it.

Mine's pretty ghetto... The wheel is clamped to the desk, the pedals are on a suitcase (to raise them up a bit), and there's a blanket under my desk chair so it doesn't roll around when I hit the brakes!

I have dreams of building a nice simulator rig, but until I get past the rookie stage, it might be a waste of my time.

Wow....Sounds like the "No Frills" setup works fine.

My son has the pedals and wheel for PS that feel a bit cheesy when racing. I'm going to have to give it a whirl.
