Oh yeah, I can't wait to hear them cry once mister "I'll reduce taxes and raise services" figures out that he doesn't have enough money to fix all the potholes! I've seen this joke too many times.

As someone said, "it takes a special kind of Democrat to lose in New Jersey".

my friend who was doing the HPDE on friday has a Porsche RSR. His belts were more than 2 years old but certainly not expired according to the tags on them. He was not allowed to go on the track until he went into CDOC and bought some new heinous looking belts. He did miss track time because of this. I think that is just ludicrous.

When in doubt follow the money.
The ticket would have been cheaper.
I wonder if the state trooper gets a cut of everything he sells on the day of a track event?
It is "Joysee" afterall....

Larry,
The Laffer curve is real.

I wish you NJ'ers the best, but electing Republicans hasn't helped much lately. Hopefully Christie helps reverse the trend.

Guess I need to spend hundreds on new harnesses if I want to run NJMP.. not gonna happen. So a stock passenger car with 3 point belts that are 10 years old are ok, but 3 year old 5 point harnesses are NG... WTF?

I don't know if anyone has actually gotten a ticket but here are the rules http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/info/pdf...egulations.pdf

Many years ago I fired up a 911 race car up at Roebling Road, which has that stupid quiet time on Sunday/ A County Cop, came over and demanded a $125 fine on the spot, no judge,no jury, no nothing. The funny thing is that the check I gave him never cleared my account. My guess is that they just wanted to scare me, which worked, because race officials told me if I didn't pay, my PCA license would be pulled.

Page 5 I think 13:62-1.1 under definitions "lapping days" seems to cover a HPDC dead on.
13:62-3.7 states that the belts for lapping days must meet the requirements of the group but at least the DOT min. No requirements for dates or even having a 5 point for "lapping days" type events which an HPDC is with no comp and passing via a point and in designated areas only.
Sounds like everyone needs to print the rules out and keep them in the car.

That is PCA's standard as well. Regardless of the rules set by NJ or any other state when driving with PCA the 5 point SFI 2 year and out but 20 year old DOT OK rule stands. EDit the PCA rule is not 2 years for SFI but 5 for all belts.
