Unless something changes, Alonso won't be there. Renault has a one race ban.

Idiots at F1 couldn't just penalize points, they have to deprive fans. Morons. Hopefully, the ban is just typical FIA grandstanding and more a more fan friendly approach will prevail.

Hot Damn!! This is going to be an exciting finish to a very interesting season.

No predictions on grid but TV and live audiences will be huge. Glad the 3 Fox showing are over. Hurray for Speed!

I can hear Hobbs; "Well, he was always a good driver but Hamilton is younger, has a much better car and....bla bla bla."

FA/Renault will be on the grid. Guaranteed.

Oh, to see the look on Alonso's face if he is not allowed to race as he watches Schumacher drive "his" 2010 car in "his" home GP...

I think that given the circumstances leading up to that point (Surtees, Massa) and given the fact that the team KNEW there was an issue and did NOT bring him back in (and I'm sure the FIA/FOM have checked all radio communications), then the penalty, when taken in context, is understandable.

The team was banned for one race, of course Alonso has never really thought of himself as part of any team, since there is no "I" in team.

I can only imagine the conversation between those 2... and the spin A. Wayne will put on it. " Thank you Michael for warming up the seat for me"...blah, blah blah. Any reports from CNN on the condition and mental state of A. Wayne?

IF we had been better organized and become part team owners/sponsors in Brawn GP, we would be able to be at the track to witness this ....

Last reported begging Mika Hakkinen to take Piquet Jr's seat for the rest of the season.

The penalty is absolutely understandable. Letting him out of the pits was a bad mistake. His continuing when he could see the wheel was loose was stupid. Some other penalty not involving depriving fans would be far more appropriate.

Depriving fans of what? Miss Alonso?
I think the "fans" got their fill of Miss Alonso when she was at McLaren...

Now, if we can only figure out a way to get Sato back onto the grid...that helmet slapping incident with Schumacher is classic.

If this is indeed true, will Schumi be eligible for the championship?

These next three weeks or so are going to be agony waiting for the next race.

YES!

I knew it was a longshot, but TV ratings and fan attendance will be way up. I could care less about whether alonso is there, but with it being Valencia and him being spanish it would be terrible to not have him.
