Three Wheelin'
I've never had good luck with Fikse. Their wheels look good but that's about it. As many of you have mentioned, unless you pester them they flat out WILL NOT get back to you. I also know two people who have had the seals fail on their wheels at the track.
I've always had great luck with BBS Motorsport and CCW.

What's the approx price on the Jongbloeds? Say 18" x 12"?
Also which Forgelines to go for. Do you deal direct with these manufacturers or buy them cheap from an outlet?

John made me a set of 1-piece CCW using my own measurements, and we were able to stuff 10" and 12" in the stock body of my 996 GT3.
My only strong recommendations for wheels are BBS and CCW. BBS Racing wheels go anywhere from $6k-$11k a set, depending on size and material. CCW 1-piece Racing wheels are the strongest/lightest wheels for the money, under $3000 for a brand new set.
I tried Jongbloed not long ago, I gave specifications on offsets, back spacing, diameter and width. The wheels came with different offset, despite double checking the specs. Called back, and needed to ship wheels and wait 3 weeks. I decided to keep them and use spacers, but if it was CCW, I would have another set sitting in my garage, then I would return the defective ones.
CCW is proudly made in U.S. with outstanding quality and service, and affordable.

Looking at the CCW site now. I don't imagine that they're all suitable for the track but it's hard to find any dedicated track wheels on there, or am I blind?

The 3pc Classics and the 1pc racing wheels described above have been track tested for many years by many drivers. Certainly suitable for the track.

Just to add some contrast to the discussion..... I’ve dealt Fikse several times and have always been pleased......
The timing on this thread is pretty good… I sent a wheel to be repaired last week (right before this thread started)..... After reading some of the experiences here, I was afraid I would never see that wheel again. Anyway, they received the wheel on Wed, I got a call on Thursday to approve the repair (replacing one of the barrels), two hours later got a confirmation email from Fedex that it was in transit back to me.....
I must say I am very happy with them…. Now if they would just lower their prices, so I could afford another set…..
Just my 2 cents.
Jeff

go here
http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelprofiles.php
look under "corsair" those are 1 pc forged
look under "classic" those are 3 pc forged.
if you care about look, the corsair looks better and slightly stronger then classic
if you care about cost, the classics are really cheap.
oh, john doesn't spend much time on his web site. it's confusing and doesn't tell you how one wheel differs from another. call him up. they are in FL, so you judge the time difference.

What do you folks consider too much in terms of cost for a race engineered wheel? I mean a really well engineered wheel.

Hey Chris, most of us can't afford Robert Linton wheels!

LOL! Even Bob's car has BBS wheels
I did speak with our BBS rep today at the track and we had a long conversation about wheels, Fikse's troubles and BBS motorsport wheels costs. He didnt think BBS wheels were THAT much more than others given the engineering you get with the BBS wheels and the punishment they will take.
