Yeah, but Terry put his cup car in there again. Should be a GTS5 car.

hi!

you could always register for Super Touring 2; i think that there are 9-10 cars preregistered (!!!); i'd expect that the power/weight crossover between ST2 and GTS4 would be very close (i THINK its around 8.7 lbs/hp min for ST2). and hoosier pays contingency for it, too (and would be paying FULL contingency with that many cars signed up!!!). looks like this VIR race is heavily populated with Vettes, with a smattering of japanese cars, too. should be an excellent race! (and i'd think that your race 996 would stand an excellent shot at ST2).

see you there?

I've heard of a few BMW guys running in 4. Possibly Bryan Watts who's on here a lot.

Hmmmm. Now that's a thought. My car is like 9.3, but doable I think. I'll look at some old times. Some of those vettes can scream on the straights though.

You can always protest if you feel the car has a lower wt/hp than the GTS4 limit.

I see it a lot in NASA and not much you can do about it. People know that you can make a dyno sheet look just about any way you want. For me, it would take the fun out of it. I've worked very hard to optimize my car for the classes I run in and worked very hard on the driver also. So, when I'm blessed enough to win, it feels great. If I had to fudge to get there...well I think I would rob myself of the true enjoyment of the sport.

I wish everyone felt that way.

As a side note that could be discussed in another thread, there needs to be major changes made to compliance checking in GTS for NASA-SE. In the two years that I've been racing, I've never been weighed coming off track.

Not just in GTS, we have the same issue in PT. At least one of the SE-R's is probably over the max power/weight ratio. It seems like only Spec Miata and Spec e30 have their act together with this stuff.

The dyno in the corner of the paddock could easily take care of any issue.

What dyno? At VIR? It's the wrong kind.
