Default Is Renault R29's new nose illegal?

Just two weeks after the initial tests, Renault has already introduced a modified nose cone, building upon the foundations that were laid out at the launch. The tip of the nose is now a little more rounded to reduce drag.
The underside however now sports 'side skirts' all along the sides of the nose, in between the front wheels and extending to the splitter. The new design will help even more to benefit from the low pressure area underneath the nose.

Although interesting, Renault is clearly experimenting different solutions, and this one is unlikely to make it to Melbourne, simply because it is not valid in the current rules. Article 3.11.2 states: With the exception of brake cooling air ducts, in side view, there must be no bodywork in the area formed by two vertical lines, one 325mm behind the front wheel centre line, one 450mm ahead of the front wheel centre line, one diagonal line intersecting the vertical lines at 100mm and 200mm above the reference plane respectively, and one horizontal line on the reference plane.

I think it's saying that there can be no bodywork within the hatched area in the picture below:

Of course you would, he pulled over for Hamilton to gift him the championship. Reminds me of the time when Favre laid down for Michael Strahan to gift him the sack championship.

Vettel is a future superstar and champion in the waiting. Glock is a journeyman at best and a year or two from endurance racing at worse.

Vettel put the wood to Hamilton straight up last year in Brazil when Hamilton needed to keep Vettel behind him for the championship. Vettel also won at Monza in a Toro Rosso, aka Minardi. Put Vettel in a top 3 car and he beats everyone in the #1 or #2 car.
Vettel needs a top 3 car to win it all.

Gotcha. It was the last "horizontal line" line that was throwing me off. From the one shot I do not see why the Renault's nose would be illegal. Does it come back too far and get into the front part of the no fly zone?

It is my assumption that the horizontal line on the 'reference plane' is the ground line. I agree that the forward cockpit appears not to fly into the no fly zone. However, my sketch is just an interpretation of the rules and not the rules.

Because the side skirts extends from the front , past the wheels and all the way to the under tray/ splitter ..

You cannot have this kind of aero continuity ...........

Perhaps. Regardless, I predict that Fernanda ALonsette will be filling one of these out again after nearly every race:
