They are quick to rotate which makes them a fairly stable platform for what we are doing. The down side to the roatation of any mid engine car is that it does not give you any warning as to when things are starting to get dicey. One minute you have traction and driving like a pro the next you are a passenger. As long as you ease up to the limit you normally don't have an issue but for those of us and me in particular who don't have much driving at speed in the rain it can get interesting.

Last year when it rained Sunday afternoon I went out and did about 3 to 4 laps and scared myself enough to come in. It may have been that the track didn't have any grip due to the rain not having time to wash off the oil from the track. But it truly got interesting.

no question
car control becomes a much bigger issue....much bigger than track lap times

Do you know if there is still room? Did you attend the first one in July? What kind of attendance did they get?

I think so far the crowd is fairly thin and there should not be a problem, but you could always call the track and find out

did they get all the jellybeans off the track? My track audio from there sounded like a hailstorm

Edit: Slidell's forecast is not looking too hot either. Storm tracking shows Ike making a beeline to the toilet bowl...

Our company is shutting down our campus as of tomorrow. They are projecting a high probability of Gale force winds in Houston Saturday morning accompanied by heavy rains. Looks like a Donzi maybe the vehicle of choice for this DE.

Even in Dallas, some area high school football games originally scheduled for Saturday are being moved up to Friday.

Doesn't TWS flood easily? I remember one year where you couldn't get out of the track when it rained really hard.

BTW, the toilet bowl is at MSR in Cresson....

In the immortal words of Carl Spackler:

" I don't think the heavy stuff's gonna come down for quite a while."

Did somebody say Donzi

G, I got stuck @ TWS that year during the CR. Tunnels were underwater. I would expect the same this weekend from the sound of things.

The ECR event should have room but they are calling for high winds & 4-6 inches of rain up here Sat. nt. through Sunday so it will probably be a wash out as well

unraveling all the work we do in registration isn't very appealing
