Hope everyone is OK in Houston. We were going to stay, but on Friday morning my wife freaked out and we headed down to family in Victoria.
She has a good reason to freak out, though... I guess this is a good time to introduce the new addition to our family:
Brandon Daniel Foertsch, born Sept. 5. I wasn't going to be able to attend the track event this weekend anyway, but I think I had a good excuse.

Glad to hear everyone seems to have made it through in one piece. And, congrats to Michael on the new addition. I hear of rumors of an impending shortage of beer in Houston; I hope you folks have enough stockpiled.

Everything ok here. Lots of downed trees, my pool looked like a lily pond/swamp, Ike tried to take my 944 turbo (*** U IKE, it's MINE!!), and I feel like Kimbo Slice has used my lower back as a punching bag. Cleared out all the trees/brush, cleaned out the pool, removed all the boards, repaired some roofing tiles, and mulched all the leaves/brush left in the yard. Wife came home after all the work was done and complained that the floor was dirty - AAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!
I was only without power for 1 day, but I am in the only one on the street with power. Still no cable/internet, can only use the computer at the office.

Michael, congratulations to you and Lori Anne from Jeri and I!! What a beautiful boy. We'll plan on swimming lessons for next summer (since he's already been in our pool).
