Calabogie DE ..........
July 11-13 with UCR and company.....
A couple of questions......
1. Who is attending?
2. Where is everyone staying? (Pretty much everything is sold out)
3. Is anyone willing to share their reserved room? (Again, everything sold out)
4. Did the facilities at the track change from last year? Is camping an option? (Are there showers available?)
Looking forward to the event (and to some kind of overnight shelter)

Hey P;
I'm going for sure. Can't wait! ! I can't help with a room, since I am self-contained. I can offer you the use of my trailer and a comfy air matress if you'd like to "rough it." Side benefits include no wasted time traveling about, and Tiina's cooking (I had French Toast for breakfast yesterday at the Glen!). Other shared ammenities are always offered by our other camping friends, of course. Your chance to become a camping friend!

I might have to take you up on becoming camping friends......
I can easily sleep in my Cayenne, but it would be nice to finally meet and spend some time with you and Tiina and the rest of your crew

Indeed...
Why do more driving? 2 hours out of each of the three days is just silly. Besides... we've got an excellent bottle of Wolf Blass '03 President's Selection Cab Sauv to go with your legendary sauce!

I would definitely camp in the Cayenne if faced with the alternatives you mentioned! Some of my fondest racing memories are from long ago and far away when we camped at every event, particularly when involved in boat racing on reservoirs in remote areas of the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. They didn't quite have the shower facilities completed back then either!

Paolo the lack of shower facilities won't matter. You will still _____ (fill in the blank)
Had you posted this in HWFMR the answer would have been posted earlier.

Thanks Bull.....are you coming up?
I just received a response to my e-mail from Calabogie Motorsports regarding the status of the facilities, the latest update from Jane is:
"We’re really hoping the washroom and shower facilities are completed by your event and my fingers are crossed!" We might be in luck.......
On a very serious note, I have been assigned to the "Green" group (any surprise there?)
Is there any courageous, willing and able instructor to ride with me?
FWIW I was at Calabogie for 3 days last year with Rennsport. Bob R. and Bruce G. let me ride solo in their White run group after the first day, so I shouldn't be too "challenging"

Hey;
I will speak to the powers that be on your behalf. Although I cannot vouch for you directly, I'm quite certain that you are not green group material. I remember Bob commenting favorably on your driving at LCMT. You are more in the realm of check-out-and-let-go-peaceably. No one in that region knows you is all, I'm sure.
As for showers, we always manage to clean up admirably, no matter that facilities available. At the worst, it's a sun bag and a tarp clamped around under the EZ-up as shower curtain. It won't be a problem.
