Default Has anyone here had a bad experience with Deman Motorsport?

I'm looking for a shop in the NY area that can help me modify/prep and maybe transport my GT3 to local track events. I've noticed the DeMan Motorsport trailers at a few events and I started asking around to see if they are a reputable shop. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews with more than a few real horror stories.

Has any Rennlist member had any bad experiences with Rick Deman or Deman Motorsport?

I watched Rick at a clubrace go out of his way to help a fellow racer get his car sorted so he can race. This was done as a good will gesture with no incentive to make money. I firmly believe he has a passion for the sport and that is key. If I can ever afford to race a GT3 Cup, I would certainly seek him out. In racing, it is easy for a driver to blame anybody but himself for a mechanical issue so I would not base your opinion on a brief sampling of participants.

There are many people in Northern NJ who go out of their way to use Rick's shop. They speak very highly of their experiences there. If I were looking for a new shop, I wouldn't hesitate to use Rick's services.

Hmmm.

One post, new & very Freudian user ID, implying that Rick--who posts here IIRC--may not be a good vendor?

Why does this not smell right?

I 've had Rick setup the alignment of my car for track and he and his staff did a great job!

He spent time in his shop and then on the track to ensure that the setup and car handling was just right...for my level of driving. The little details of customer service and satisfaction matter a lot...at least to me.

EVERY shop has "someone" that is going to have had, at least in their minds-eye, a horrible experience. I love posts like this. First post on Rennlist, asks a question to which he apparently has the answer. If I "asked around" and got "a lot of mixed and a few horror stories" I would be done looking. Hear anything good out there? Or was this just a shot at Deman? You seem like you are just looking for more bad experiences from your question, not good ones..

Are you JABS911 by some chance?

So, it isn't you Rick looking for some good press?

Judass911 not only tries to take a cheap shot at Rick, he thinks we are all dumb enough to fall for it!

Rick is hosting a Tech Session on July 12th, so you should check it out for yourself.
