The best part is that this fishing trip came up empty. I had a fellow driver and budding club racer that often comes to me during DE weekends when his car has issues. I had to inspect his car for a log book and it did not pass as the kill/ disconect switch was not the right one and was installed wrong. This had to be fixed or no log book per the rules. I had almost no tools or time to give on this one. Rick was nearby getting one of his clients cars through Tech and on his own he offered up his and his crews time to look at and then work hard on the problem. I walked by a little later and they were gang tackeling the car in the rain for nothing other than to get a racer on the track.
I have heard plenty of good and bad on every shop I know in my area. Rick's is not in my area but his is also likely the only one that I have personaly heard plenty of good about but no bad press on. TRhe standard feedback I have gotten is not just "he is a nice guy" prattle but that his shop does good work.
If you were looking for true insight on his shop why ask a leading question? Your post = Fail.

Per Deman's website it is being hosted by NNJR. http://www.demanmotorsport.com/calen...php?m=7&y=2008
This sounds like an interesting event to attend.

This alone should count as a + for his shop!

Yes I had a bad experience. They made my car so fast I could not keep it on the racing surface. Come to think of it I could not keep any of my cars on the track. Hmmm maybe it was not their fault.
DeMans shop is a first class facility you can depend on.

I have 3 cars at the shop right now, was 4 but I just sold the c4s. Never had any issues, they steered my right on the cup car and did a nice rebuild on the cup engine & transmission. I've had nothing but good service & support... I was just at the shop today looking at car #84 & #85 (awaiting a roll cage).

I'm looking for a shop in the NY area that can help me modify/prep and maybe transport my GT3 to local track events. I've noticed the DeMan Motorsport trailers at a few events and I started asking around to see if they are a reputable shop. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews with more than a few real horror stories.
Has any Rennlist member had any bad experiences with Rick Deman or Deman Motorsport?

Ouch - first post to this thread since 2008.
I don't agree that a shop '...normally not doing that...' is out of line or enough reason to stop doing business with them. Saving money on parts because you supplied your own sounds reasonable but shops usually anticipate making some money on parts to help cover the time (which can be extensive) of sourcing them.
I can't speak to your problems with rotor dust.

Yes was a loyal customer to the shop(no more). Took my Porsche there for oil change and front brake job. Called to get my rear rotors and pads done told Rick I had my own parts. Said well we normally don't do that. Last time there he put on these **** flat rotors that give off a ton of dust. I bought the drill hole with grooves. Saved $1300. Never going there again!
