Are there any "other" suggested video editing software programs? Primarily for use in editing track videos.
Thanks

Quicktime Pro can do some powerful things, but it isn't really a great video editor. However, it is available for both Windows and PC. You download a key from Apple to convert the standard Quicktime app to Pro (e.g., no CD). Info here: www.apple.com/quicktime

OK, regarding the Frankencharger cable...
I plan to use "2" 12volt plugs.
Does anyone think that would create a problem
in the Aiptek charging system?
Reason:
Plug the Aiptek cam charger into 1st Jack;
Plug my Traqmate system into the 2nd Jack.
See pic below...
(PS- these are Radio Shack parts)

iMovie HD
Final Cut Express
Final Cut Pro
I've listed them in order of ease of use and capability. For 95% of what you'll want to do, iMovie HD will do it and very easily/quickly.

) and I use OJSoft Total converter to get the .MOV files into .AVI for Pinnacle to work with. It converts .MOV to any popular format and then some.. same price as Quicktime Pro but with a TON more features - http://www.ojosoft.com/video-convert...converter.html

I'm assuming the Simplified Version 12 is sufficient and I don't need the "Plus" version, at a plus + price?

George - I may have already mentioned it but I use Pinnacle Studio 11 (12 is the latest now - http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSit...Studio+Family/

The basic version will do you fine, yes. Here is the info from Pinnacle's site -
Studio 12.0 and higher can import the following video file formats with the allowable extensions for each format noted in parenthesis:
* AVI File - (.avi)
* MPEG Files - MPEG-1, MPEG-2 SD & HD, and MPEG-4 - (.mpg, .mpeg, .mod, .mp2, .mp4, .m2ts, .mts, .m1v, .m2v. mpv, .tod) - HD file import requires Studio Plus or Ultimate Version 11
* WMV Files - (.wmv)
* DIVX - (.avi)
* MOD (JVC Everio cameras) - (.mod)
* TOD (JVC Everio cameras) - (.tod)
* 3GPP Files - (.3gp)
* AVCHD - (.m2ts, .mts) - Requires Studio Plus or Ultimate Version 11.
I'm assuming the HD file import reference is only for MPEG 2-HD files as I have Studio 11.1 Plus and have no issue once I convert the .MOV to .AVI format..

The file the Aiptek camera produces is in .MOV format (Quicktime). You really want to convert that to something easy to work with like .AVI . The nice thing about the converter is that you can change it to any format you would like, IE Window's Video (.WMV), MPEG, etc .etc. etc.

AVI is another evil MS incarnation. Stick with open-source stuff like MPEG4 (for which .MOV is an ISO-approved container, fwiw).
From Wikipedia re AVI: "The highly-efficient H.264 codecs commonly used for MP4 files are ill-suited to the AVI file container; this is particularly true of H.264 Main Profile (MP) and High Profile (HiP) codecs.
AVI files do not contain pixel aspect ratio information. Microsoft confirms that "many players, including Windows Media Player, render all AVI files with square pixels. Therefore, the frame appears stretched or squeezed horizontally when the file is played back."[1] There are other video container formats that allow irregular shaped pixels.
More modern container formats (such as QuickTime, Matroska, Ogg and MP4) offer more flexibility"
