Default Lightweight battery choice....Odyssey PC680 or Braille 14115?

Replacing the battery in my car with a lightweight track option.

Any input on why I should go with one over the other?
Experiences with either?

Price really doesn't come into play here as they are roughly the same:
The Braille is $220 for the battery and mount
The Odyssey is $252 for the battery and mount

The Braille has the following specs:
Casing: Polymer Plastic
Weight: 11.5 lbs
Length: 5.8
Width: 3.4
Height: 5.8
Pulse Cranking Amps: 904
Cranking Amps: 486
Cold Cranking Amps: 360
Amp Hour Rating: 15

The Odyssey has the following specs:
680 cranking amps for 5 seconds
595 cranking amps for 10 seconds
525 cranking amps for 20 seconds
17 amp hours
Short circuit current over 1800A
25 minute reserve capacity with 25amp load
Female brass terminal w/M6 SS bolt
Length 7 1/16"
Width 3"
Height 6 9/16"
Weighs less than 15 lbs

TIA!

I installed the Braille last summer, and have been very pleased with it.

seems like the old wt vs CCA power thing still holds w/batts... I'd lean toward the odyssey only because if a stall happens and the motor gets flooded, it might make the diff btween a restart and a DNF w/a high compression motor.

My Odyssey just took a crap on me after two years. Up until then it was fine and worked awesome. I kept a battery tender on it most of the time but I left it off a couple of times when the battery died on me. This was enough to kill one of the cells in it so my search is on for another one. Let me know where you end up getting yours from.

My Odyssey is on it's second season. I just let it go flat over the winter and changed in the spring. So far so good.

Does anyone have the link to the mount hardware for the Odyssey?
The Braille Auto site has a sort of bracket there:

http://www.bsrproducts.com/product_i...8a647e7c44f034

but being completely lazy, I'd like something that
was designed to go into the Porsche (996) battery
location, ideally bolt-in, and hold the battery and
provide whatever else needed to just bolt the
cables to the new smaller battery.
So this should save about 20lbs, right?
thanks

I'm leaning toward the Odyssey as Rennline make a custom mount specifically for the car:

I've got a Braille, works fine... As long as you keep it on the tender.

Are these not acceptable for every day usage?

I guess they went up in price, I paid about $90 for my PC680's a couple of years ago and the oddessey sheetmetal mount is another $40 or so. We have PC680's in 4 cars with no problems, we live in CA though so cold weather is less of an issue.

PC680 is $127 here(and I know you can find it cheaper if you look):

FWIW the Odyssey is sold under a few different brands. This is the cheapest one I know of:

http://www.performancedistributors.com/batteries.htm

I know a few guys in the tuner world (you guys would call them ricers ) that have used both with excellent results.

Cheap source for the 680:

Hey Dell. I have the 680 and the Rennline mount for it. I like mine just fine. I keep it on a battery tender as well. There is a special charger that works much better and much faster than a regular battery tender. If you’re interested let me know and I’ll go check it out in the garage.

Just for fun, check this out. I am very tempted to try one: http://www.voltphreaks.com/

If you want to save about $75, look for a Deka ETX14 - it is the same battery as the Braille 14115 (they are originally motorcycle/snowmobile batteries manufactured by Deka and rebadged by Braille to market to auto enthusiasts for the track etc.). I have been switching one out with my OEM for the track - no problem getting thru a long weekend with it.
