Close call at Sebring
I thought I would celebrate my 100th post on Rennlist with my first post on Youtube. That was yesterday at Sebring with Chin. Enjoy!

Looks like it's just one of Sebring's 10,000 elevation changes (each one is 1") at work.

We were in pits 1-10 and standing RIGHT THERE when it happened.
I must admit I saw the whole thing but I looked way more dramatic from your point of view than from our pit.
I couldnt believe he didnt hit the wall or you didnt hit him, great driving!!!
Come say hi next time!!

Turn 17 is really scalloped throught there as it used to be used as the burn out box by the dragsters that used to run there. In addition its kind of deceiving as you think you got all of this track out room to the left and all of sudden the road ends in a big blue and white tire wall. A lot of drivers I think try and jerk it back while still coming up on the power and the combination results in significant oversteer as the Porsche showed. I know it wasn't the preferred method, but I always double apexed that corner as late as possible. I might have given up a .10th, but I never put it in the wall there either. Now, never ask me about turn 1 ;-)

as we've all seen its quite bumpy through there and i've heard its better to stay more to the inside through 17. dont know if its the fastest way but sometimes the cars can catch air of those bumps and when the wheel lands it shoots the car one way or another and can cause a spin

WOW, he was WAY wide throught that turn totally missing the apex cone. I came through right after that happened and the dirt all over the track.

Glad no one got hurt and the Porsche was ok!
Edit: Now that I look at it again, he's WOT even though he's way wide. Wonder what was going on?

I don't remember seeing all the dirt. Must have happened at the end of a run. He started to loose it before he even got to the dirt. I think either he ran out of room to unwind but didn't get off the gas or he did get off a little too much. Nice save though. Dosen't hurt to have a little luck as well.
