Default How would you rate your driving skill level.

How do you rate your driving skill from 1-10 (10 best). From soccer moms putting on makeup while they drive to F1 drivers, where do you stand?

I have data from other polls and will share later.

Let me guess, a poll showed that 80% of average citizens felt that their driving skills are in the top 80%?

I give myself an 8.

You should have put an 11 option on there for GR.

I figure 1-2 are reserved for the folks who have no clue. 3 you start to get it a little on the road. 4-6 will take you from beginning to advanced DE. 7 novice racing, 8 and up, reserved for the real deal. Heck there's two levels of driver even in F1.

I humbly submit my 5.

I gave myself a 7. On my best days I am a 9 but when you have seen people who can be a 10 every day it makes you a bit humble

I'm a six. I have a ton to learn. You will never hear me say that my lap times are as good as the car can give. My lap times are as good as I can give. If I can do a 1'24"xx at Summit, I'll bet Kimi can do a sub 1' 20"xx, easily.

I'll b very happy if I can be a seven next year.

Love the public polls; keeps it real. <edit> Well, sort of real.

I was SEVENTH!

I don't really know how to even answer that question. Each year that goes by, you realize how little you know, so how can you rank yourself when you can't even be certain that you know what is possible?

I am faster than many, slower than many. All that really counts is whether I am faster than the other guy on a particular day . . .

So I abstain from voting . . .

Maybe that's the point. The more you know, the more you realize you don't know, so the legit fast guys will probably rank themselves lower than the intermediate guys will.

the endpoints are nice to know but what level is #5. I could have justified that it was anything from competent street driver to entry level DE to competent wheel to wheel driving.
