I would think the same. I actually get harassed by my friends when I say that I am slow. I really believe that but some think it is a form of arrogance.

Until I can consistently podium and win my class, you will not hear me say that I am anything but slow, even if I am faster than many others. I would be ashamed if it were any other way.

I completely agree. Every time I go on track, I learn something new, usually from someone else!

I gave myself a 6, which is nowhere near correct if VR & Sunday truly are 6's. I understood the pole to be from soccer mom @ 1 to F1 @10, and figured that it would take a 4 to survive a DE, and a five to do more than one of them. Maybe we're trying to pack too wide a range of droving ability into ten slots.

Actually, I never said what 1 and 10 are. I only pointed out some drivers that belong close to the extremes.

You guys should be fascinated when I tell you the three data points I already have.

If ten defines F1 ability, is eight a pro or near-pro level?

That is a great statement, for even pro-level drivers and learning something new whenever they are testing, sorting, or visiting a track they haven't been to in a while.

Speaking from that experience, that was exactly my point!

For example, in 2 weeks, I will learn a brand new track here in Texas. To me, few things in this sport are more fun and rewarding than that.

So great minds think the same! And good luck with learning the track in 2 weeks too. If you ever get a chance, watch a fabulous video to about Aryton Senna called "Racing Is In My Blood". Look at his passion, intensity, competitiveness, and tell us what cha thnk of his skill level. Where does he rank of the list here?

After reading where some of you guys placed yourselves I think the 3 I gave myself looks a lot like self aggrandizement.

I was goin to go 4 but I knew I couldn't get away with it with this crowd. The laughter'd be deafening even through cyber space.
