R, I can't complain this season...they were all terrific fun! The only snag was the blown engine but it had 140,000 miles on it anyways!! VIR is next in February.

I to am anxious to see how the BF R-1's perform. I know Tom Dymant ran them at the NASA race at Summit (finished 2 and first) and thought they were great. I have a set ordered for VIR so I will know soon.

Ill be going to the RTR-PCA event this weekend and will be close to the 20 heat cycle point. Tires have plenty of meat left in them and seemingly still decent times.
Ive tested new Hoosier R6 and BFG R1s back to back at VIR and the R1s were 1 sec faster. Of course there are tons of other variables, but its certainly a tire worth considering.

At Miller Motorsports Park, we use the BFG R1s for our school race cars, for our celebrity races, our MPRA race series and they are also the spec tire for our Mustang Challenge race series (so yes, they are a sponsor). We've found that they last about 2x longer than the Hoosiers (which we used for 1+ season). For the MPRA, drivers can get two weekends out of them (4+ hours of racing). The 12 heat cycle comment by Mike K is pretty close.
We'll also be using them on two cars at Thunderhill next month. Great tires, and the BFG folks are great people too. No complaints.
