Hi there,
I've been looking for an alignment shop in the Bay Area. My car is a 90 C2. I just did an H&R Red/Bilstein HD/CCW Classic 17's upgrade all around.
Custom Alignment wants like 240$ align, 120$ ride height, 240$ corner balancing. I'm not a very experienced DE-goer yet and just want something that won't throw my car into a concrete barrier. When I was doing the suspension install I set the cambers to max in the front cuz I didn't remember to mark the old positions.
I've heard of TCDesignFab as well. Any other suggestions?
Is $600 steep or am I just a miser?
Thanks,
Donovan

unless you are very hard core racing, dont worry about cornerbalancing. its a total joke for a street or DE car. save your money for something that really will make the car perform, like a set of DOT race rubber for the street!
(RA1 full tread) you can set the ride hight your self and get pretty good by eye balling it via the fender as it sits today, or the ride hight measuring pads.
Then, take it to Wheel Works and put it on the hunter machine and have them align it. If you want something a little more in the way of performance, go to CT automotive in Campbell. ask for Chris. (they are experts with 911s) Tell'm, I sent you !![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Thanks Mark! I suppose you're right, I could set up the ride height myself and cornerbalancing is too much for someone at my level!
I'll call around and see how much it is for just an alignment. One thing that's a little pressing is that I'm prepping for a DE and won't have much time to work on the car (which is why I'm probably going ot have them at least do the ride height adjust for me)...

Tony (and Joe) won't steer anyone wrong. Last week I think he mentioned they've done 156 Spec Miata cages! (We had a huge discussion on one of our local racing lists about crappy cages.)

TCDesign did my cage in the 944Spec car - and probably has done 90% of the others in the norcal area. Highly recomend him. RogerKraus Racing also is familiar with the porsches and Brandon (who does most of the alignments) will work with you to get the best for YOUR needs (He races with NASA too).

Sounds like I found the right people for the job.
Keep 'em coming folks! When I did a search only a few recommendations came up and that's why I started this thread. In the future, Rennlisters can reference this thread when they're in my situation.
Thanks!
