Default HVR Watkins Glen DE: WOW!

Many thanks to the HVR team for hosting one THE best DE events I have ever been to.

Their format ensures an amazing amount of open track time. This is the best bang the buck PCA DE out there. I really like the Group A & B format, where A is the Instructed group and B is the advanced drivers group.

There were no more than 15 cars on the track at any time, and I had the luxury of instructing my student on OPEN track with NO traffic for 2 hours each day. Cool!

It was great to see Henk, Ricardo, Geoffrey, and all the new friends we made over the last couple of days. If you have never been to one of their loosly formatted open track events, you owe it to yourself to experience nirvana.

Great job guys, see you next year.

Thank you Jim. I can't imagine how good the write up would have been if I had paid for your dinner.

HVR runs great events. I really wish more regions would run this format.

Yeah, there really was just that much track time. It was great, and I would encourage anyone who can make a HVR event to give it a shot. You'll be glad you did.

Paul, great to meet you and I enjoyed having such a fine dinner at the Sececa lodge.

And to think we ended up closing the track early because everyone went home.

Paul, nice vid. Thanks for sharing. I'm not familiar with WGI yet so I can't comment on your driving but my suggestions would be to secure the slack of your belts. Don't want that blowing around like it is in the cabin.

When I have dreams about driving, I'm always at the Glen

Is there anything more fun than passing someone in the essess at the Glen during a race?

I just love flying past a fellow driver after I rocket out of the esses. Flat out through the esses really gets a heck of a launch down the back straight (then I run into my rev limiter).
I'll bet passing in the esses is something else.

Paul, If your looking for more speed, you can carry more into and out of the bus stop using throttle to balance in the outer loop, Brake later into the toe and you have alot more track in T10 & T11. Going faster through T11 will exit you much earlier into the paint. Looks like you had alot of fun. The car sounds great.
