You turn-in/apex many turns early. The car will feel "more balanced" and you won't fight it as much in the turns if you improve your line a bit.

I thought you did the toe very well, and also turn 10.

Enjoy the fabulous car!

Their format ensures an amazing amount of open track time. This is the best bang the buck PCA DE out there. I really like the Group A & B format, where A is the Instructed group and B is the advanced drivers group.

There were no more than 15 cars on the track at any time, and I had the luxury of instructing my student on OPEN track with NO traffic for 2 hours each day. Cool!

It was great to see Henk, Ricardo, Geoffrey, and all the new friends we made over the last couple of days. If you have never been to one of their loosly formatted open track events, you owe it to yourself to experience nirvana.

Great job guys, see you next year.

Ditto to what Jim said, but from a newbie perspective.

To read more on one particular great experience I had during this event, courtesy of Jim, check out my post "Cup Car Ride Experience !!!"

Thanks Jim!

Mike,

It was nice to meet you and glad to see I could help make your day.

Looks like you were having fun and driving well out there. Your SC looks very nice, and I know they are a blast to drive. See ya again at another HVR event next year.

The earlier apex is fine, but he should be trail braking down to that apex.

0) on the curb in T1, gt on the power earlier and use more track on exit so you don't scrub speed.
1) flat out from T1 to the bus stop. That's probably 2-3 seconds alone.
2) stay on the throttle leaving the busstop and down the outter loop. Dont' go so wide leaving the busstop either. once you are about 200 ft from th light pole, feather it back to 1/2 as you bring it in all the way to the curbing.
3) completely inside the concrete for the toe.
4) off camber is fine...just more entry & exit speed
5) to much braking for the fast left...it's a tap & go
6) on to the front straight, use all the track at exit...you are giving up 15-20'...yes, th car should basically be completely on the rumble strip at exit.

After listening to Colin on the outer loop and watching Leh Keen drive the exit of T11, I picked up a full second. If your not on the paint before the bridge exiting T11, your throwing away alot of time.

The DE line has some very safe late apexes. There are some turns that can be apexed much earlier. Just has to do with comfort level. The only one I don't play with is 10. Right TD

Colin, how are you taking that? I'm not sure I know what you mean. Are you saying that you turn in under full throttle and then feather back mid-corner or feather it back then turn in?

I wanted to give a HUGE Thank you! to JimmiLew for an incredible first DE.
This was my first time on a race track and Jim braved two days of a stock 996 cab with a complete newbie! I had a terrific time and am looking forward to my next track day. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep the cab given how much fun I had on the track... I think I'm going to need to get a track car

I really enjoyed meeting everyone at the track and can't wait to get back. I took some pictures and posted them here http://s233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ct_17-18_2007/. There are a few names/cars that I couldn't match up, so I apologize about that in advance.

Ben,

Thanks for taking all the pics. I only wished we got a pic of you on the 2nd day when you were catching some ZZZZ's or "resting your eyes" while wearing your helmet and sitting in your car!

Perhaps I'll see you at next years HV DE at the Glen.

My name isn't Colin, but you're early in 10 and waaaay late in 11. You'd be surprised how early you can take 11 and with how little braking.

Mike, I was doing my 2 mental laps between runs! Or maybe I was doing both.
