Well, it's my goal to someday own a Porsche! 
(a Cayman S is currently on my short list)
Also, please know that I'm not volunteering just to get a garage. While driving home this evening, I was thinking about how I used to volunteer to put on autocross events when I was living in Colorado. (above and beyond the normal work assignments) I found this very rewarding, and it heightened my enjoyment of the events above and beyond the driving itself.
So, you have my e-mail address--let me know what my assignment is.
(I'm now going to take my wife out to eat a nice dinner, since I was gone all weekend...)

bring her to the track. I drove with my wife today as a passenger and I walked away very impressed by her driving line and agressiveness. WOW have a great dinner.
I too love to autocross my 911, 914-6 and 944 so does my 17 year old daughter. Help us here. This was done by the Hendricks (dad and son) for a long time, but they have been so busy with SCCA. We need some big energy to develop this with us.
Let's develop a DE caliber autocross event.

Richard, Let me know how I can help out too. I'm a HCR member living in Austin and would be glad to volunteer in some capacity at the DE's . Just let me know what I can do. I really appreciate all the hard work the that you guys do at these DE's. Having attended DE's from several regions, you guys have the best thing going as far as I can tell.

GREAT weekend, in large part due to Richard, Jake, George, and the other volunteers who make LSR events killa.
Extremely hot & humid yesterday, less so today with a nice breeze. Fun times! It was great to see & meet RennListers this weekend...even you, Trackjunky.

I have tried to develop this year a much more robust driving program. After all we are a driving club. I like the idea of a one day event. We could use your help. Here is what I want to see happen in 2008 once the board appoved:

I want us to have our social in a fun place (possibly get music and food at the track saturday night), offer in-car video's, track portraits for first timers, corner weighting equipment, racing and tire equipment vendor(reliable) etc.

How about hitting up some of the local speedshops/tuners for tech sessions? I would love to see a detailing session, brake maintenance/bleeding session, oil changing session, etc.
I met with the new local Motul distributor today, and he is very interested in getting friendly with the local Porsche crowd.
There is a newer non-Porsche shop called RSI which is very interesting in starting some Porsche service/tuning. There are also a couple of good body shops interested in getting more Porsche business. I would be interested in trying to arrange something for everyone's enjoyment.

those are great ideas. we have discussed some of these at our board meetings, but at the end we just don't have enough folks helping organize and execute. We can get a lot of giveaways at our DE's like tare and ice if we had someone heading up our sponsor program
