Paul, the low end TQ is awesome, completely different from the giac flash that was on the car. A 100% improvement! Hopefully soon I will have some numbers to back up my gut feeling.
Hi, Wondering what your impressions are of the Ruf conversion to your 997tt. I have a 996 Rturbo 550 conversion I purchased from Ruf auto center about a year ago. At the time, I asked Hans if a 996/550 conversion would perform about the same as a stock 997tt or a 997/550 conversion, for example, in quarter mile times. He replied, I see no reason why not. But if one looks at the powerband on the stock 997 and the 997/550 converssion and their amazing torque curves, coming on strong below 3000 rpms, I realize he was wrong. The onlly way my 996 R turbo can compete in acceleration is if I continually work the rpms about 4,000. Anyway, I was wondering if you noticed a significant difference in torque/acceleration with the 550 conversion when the 997tt already is a steller low end performer. Cheers, Paul
