For the record the Crawford and KMR louvers are one in the same, made by Crawford for KMR. I called Crawford about them several years back and was quoted an outrageous price too.

The ones in post #17 are proud, as in sit above the profile of the fender where the ones in posts #27/8 are flush and therefore the louvres are actually recessed under the line of the fender if you get my meaning.

Anything's possible. You just need to find a f/g or c/f fabricator that will make up the panels. As some have already suggested, the Crawford ones are expensive although nobody has said how much. We got some of our panels made by http://www.allporscheracing.com/ in the US. Speak to Mike from IFC. He makes up f/g parts for 944 stuff but I'm sure if you asked if he would do a run for the 911 guys. He'd at least give you a yes or no and then possible costs. My only concern would be the different radii of various 911 variants? He made the 935 or F40 front fenders for our car and the louvres in them. Plus the side rockers. (We've modified since then) We were going to revise the vents so that the front louvre was steeper and higher than the rest. This creates some 'draw' and helps to pull the air out. This is why 'proud' vents are better (more efficient) than recessed ones. We made the central vent for the cooling cores and also the ones directly behind it. The outer ones in the hood are not really very efficient. Made by someone else again.

EDIT: You beat me to it Doug. Those very same louvres in your post #33 are on my car in post #36. He was going to modify them and send me version ii but it has gone onto various back burners as they say.

zerodecibel's vents seem to had the best price/looks value. Not too expensive for testing how they adjust to 996's curved fenders.
Still interested to know Vision's vents' price though.

Has anyone just cut vents in the aluminum and bent them up slightly? or just did 5-6 thin rectangular openings cut in the fender? afterall, we are trying to vent wheel well higher pressure air to the low pressure in that section of the fender. I suppose the vent ducts could create a Bernoulli effect and draw even more air out too.

Mike, what is your main objective here?

that would be more of an inlet vs a vent. thats a high presure zone on the fender top
