Default Not for the faint of heart, the worse harness mounting you have ever seen!

My friend was looking for a harness bar in his E36 and came across this picture. Prepare yourself, your head may exploded due to the shear stupidity!

Looks like a nice seat though, Recaro SPG with carbon fiber rear?

straps should go under the large bar then mount to the guides........................
this is exactly how I told my ex-wife to install her harnesses. I also bled her brakes.

Well, if I remember correctly, Joe Marko at HMS gave a seminar at Zone 1 Tech Tactics and he is advocating 2" belts with Hans these days. I can't remember the reason why...

2" belts (or 3" belts that taper to 2" where they go over the HANS) are much less likely to slip off the HANS wings in an impact than 3" belts. I highly recommend them.

Joe Marko said that the 2" belts have the same load rating as the 3" belts and there have been no indications or studies to say that the human body will be damaged more from a 2" belt over a 3" belt. He also said that both the 3" and 2" belts work fine with the Hans device, even the newer model with "wings" as long as the 3" belts are properly positioned on the Hans device. He said most of the slippage with the 3" belts were due to improperly positioning them on the Hans. I don't personally know since I bought the 2" Hans belts AND I've used them without my Hans device with no issues.

The best part that the harness is actually wrapped properly, just not wrapped to anything useful.

I bet the guide bar is just wedged in or held by interior trim screws anyway.
