What gears are interchangable on G50 5 speed?

the G50/01, 02, 03, 05, 50, 52 are all generally interchangable. You can also purchase gears from Porsche Motorsports, Powerhouse II and Guard. There are probably others. I have some used G50/50 ratios if you are interested.

FYI, I also noticed an add in the Classified section of Panorama for closeout on G50 gears from Quaife.

Just to make sure I understand. All gears are interchangable on a G50? ie: i can mix up 1,2,3,4,5 in any combination and they'll fit on the gear shafts?
Kris -- This will be for dedicated race car (no AX).

Regarding interchanability, i found my answer on powerhausii site. Only 3/4 are interchangable.
Another question... What would folks recommend as redline speed in top gear for MidO. ~350-400hp 3.8 NA, ~2300# car.

I'm curious as to the process of regearing a G50 also. I'd like to spread out the gearing equally but run shorter 3-5 in order to keep a Turbo in it's powerband a little easier. I would think a 145 MPH peak would suffice as it will be a 90% DE car.. This would be a shortened G50 in an 80's 3.3LTR run at Limerock, the Glen, etc.

On a more serious note, I hit my redline at Mid-Ohio at about the start finish stand. I need a higher top gear. I think my dyno sheet said 340HP(?) at 2300lbs. But I have a 915 so not sure the gearset I have would give you a good idea what not to do.

145 MPH peak
what other mods to the 3.3 turbo, suspension, etc?
I recently rebuilt a g50 and picked a Glen top speed of 180 and built the box backwards from there.
At LRP may not have to use the top gears

160mph should give you enough room. Do you have the option of a differnt tire size to affect the gear ratio? I know at Mid Ohio I used a taller tire for my set up to eliminate a could in between spots.

Thanks. It has the stock 4 speed in it now and I may just get used to the car the way it is but it seems to me like I may just stick it in 3rd and keep it there at Limerock. I'd like the option to go 3-4 at least, and i'm used to using 5th in my SC there.. as for setup it will be built the same as my G stock car with a little different shock valving.. that is all Smart Racing anti-sways, camber bar, 33/29mm torsion bars, etc etc.. I'm told I can run 315's and 275's on her.. should be a fun year if all goes well!
