Hmmm, OK. I learn something new every day.
Is "kinematic" a version of "camel"?

Yes, yes it is. It's a hairless two hump variant that live near the ocean. Very high maintenance from what I understand. Not very loyal either.
Porsche also used the name for the caster control arm of the rear suspension of the 993's. As I understand it, it's function is to control the rear toe throughout the suspension travel. When set properly, the loaded rear toe's in a little to help steer into the turn. It set wrong and it toe's out and makes the rear end steer away from the turn. It's basically Porsche's feeble attempt at 4 wheel steering. They only used it in the 993's and abandoned it afterwards.

I had 1500+ on the back of the RSA & mid 1300s up front. George has about 300 Lbs. more weight to carry so he needs a little more. I loved my set-up! ![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)

I could never find out the spring rates on the 993 Cup, but I heard that they were in the neighborhood of 1500# - 1800#. On a 2500# car with 315hp...that was a fun car to drive.

Kevin,
That's about right. Our 996 cups are very similar as well. I told Chris C. that was the feel I was after in the RSA. All three cars had basically the same spec springs when I was finished. Love that go kart feel

Kevin, that car was a blast to drive. Thanks for opportunity. That's why I wanted stiffer, much stiffer. Even though my car is nowhere close to the cup cars, it does feel pretty damn tight.

Do you think the cars drive the same? I've yet to really spin (not including two wheel off-track induced) the 996 Cup yet, kinda a simple car to drive, just stay on the gas. I spun the 993 Cup coming out of Ricochet and twice in Big Bend at MSR. That car could be a beast with no power steering, 993 suspension, and what felt to me much stiffer springs vs. the 996 Cup. Also, the air-cooled Cup engine was really, really loud.

I think the fronts are 1300 on the 6, rears are higher, close to 1500 I think. The 6s feel a little softer since they weigh more then the 3s. I think we are about 200 Lbs. heavier now. Also, that "interesting" 993 suspension G is talking about comes into play on the 3s. The RSA was a blast to drive w/the stiff stuff & I was right at the 2760 mark on weight in that car. No kinematic toe just old school trailing arms. Also helps that it was completely steel, solid mounts/suspension front to back. Very fun car!

George is actually an excellent driver.
I am still amazed that you guys can drive those 993's with 1700 pound springs. Ugh.
