Daytona should be fun. I think the 996s aerodynamics should help us out but now that I've given Colin so much crap I'm pretty sure I'll blow my engine to pieces on the first lap.

the guy had one of the Hoosier guys over and they were comparing tires.
What was a hoot is they brought the 904 there in a horse trailer, bars on the windows and all. The car is owned by an eye doctor.
Great seeing you all, though I didn't get a chance to catch up to everyone.
Enjoyed meeting Colin, though I was quite disappointed the woman in his avatar was not his grid girl.
Good to see the Texas Boys up in force, including JW (nice podium, Jay) and the notorious Glenn Gatlin (who can show up without a ride and end up with more seat time than some of the registered drivers -- Glenn's the only name that finished up in two different positions in the same race ).
A very serious, humorless bunch, those Texans. While they can't hold their liquor, they are fast.
Just about everybody in the Turtle Pond was quicker with new personal bests, including Joey Baga D, Chris Inglot, Dave Swanson, Chuck Reiter and some of the other turtles in the pond.
Way to go Jim B for two firsts.
The Big Turtle had a good weekend too, with a new personal best of 41.6, and a co-drove to 6th in F for the Enduro with Jeff Phillips.
The Chicago Region put on a great event. The racing was close without the carnage from previous years (that was reserved for the DEers). Everything was kept on schedule. I just wish the forecast for rain had been right.
Kudos to co-chairs Keith Clark (who had the fastest race lap in Green) and Pete Hackenson, and Club President Chuck La Mantia.
I did get a rather severe case of Cup Car Lust while following one around the old Road Course to Siebkens on Saturday evening. What a sound, and what acceleration. Then I saw Mike Origer's beautiful 993RS/CS is for sale. Started thinking it would be fun to chase Jim B in C, but came to my senses, and cents-es, after a couple of Leinies.
Great weekend. Can't wait for Daytona.

Oh yes
Best pimped out interior award goes to the mauve suede door panels on Joey Baga D's new race car.
All the East Coast guys were drooling over them.

Now to get you up to BIR...., or what about this, (depending on the track schedule this next summer, If I come to your home track, the Glen, & we have a GTC-1 love-fest with all your go-fast buddies & you, then perhaps we could have a re-match @ my home track @ BIR?? . Seems you guys from out east have a few more GTC-1’s then us. I might be able to get 3 - 4 GTC-1’s to come out and play here as well. Again great to meet you both, good luck the balance of year!
I was happy to finish ahead of JimB in both races. I know that with his power and aero that won't be the case at Daytona!
We can talk about BIR as I like to expand the track resume whenever possible! Do come out to the Glen, as we have several GTC1 cars driven by some of the best! Here's a pic of this year's Glen sprint race start where you can see 5 of the 7 of us:
I also saw the 904 briefly. An awesome car!
Thanks to Chicago Region. This is a truly great event and not to be missed!

not knowing that track at all, did the yellow car trail brake too long or did he hit grease? seems the breakaway was sudden?

Larry, I think you're right about the 993TT. Our cars should be pretty close though.

I was wondering why the guy spun also. It seemed to snap when his brake lights went off. I would assume that if he snapped off the brakes to quickly the weight would have been transferred to the rear wheels and this would not have happened. Hmmmm. Comments?

It is a weird spin. It wasn't slippery.
