Mooty

that is a very fast corner.

I thought it might be a liguid in the mark on the pavement as well, but Charlie passed over the same marks, with no ill effect... the line looked a little early to me, maybe he was, and increased braking...

I think that he stayed on the brakes too long and it started coming around just as he got off them. It didn't look like he went to the gas either and that just exacerbated the problem.

It's right in the middle of the corner where you might be letting the clutch out into a lower gear. To me it looks like he dropped the clutch, the engine revs weren't matched and the rear tires said 'nope not today' and at the speeds at corner one get taken at he was along for the ride before he knew what happened.

At least thats my .02

Thansk for the vid.

You could very well be right, and that is exactly why you don't do that. You have to get the downshift done before the turn!

Hey Mike - You wouldn't have any in-car of my car, would you? I never get to see it. I should have run the camera during qualifying for the Sprint race. You might be surprised to see the slip angles you pull through the kink!

That what I think happened too.

Also, did any one notice he almost lost in the Canada Corner on the first lap?

LOL I thought I was faster thru the kink than a lot of people -- maybe they were holding back waiting for me to crash

I did have video running, but haven't watched it yet.

Let me see what I got. I should have you from Monday.

Good pass by the way. My brakes weren't working nearly as well as in qualifying. But I think you figured that out.

They really have those hooked up.

We don't need yet another fast guy in F (with Shawn Young now in the equation and Keith Clark back), but it should would be fun trying to keep up with you, and both of us lapping Eric Cyranski.

Hey Jupeman, I have a Sony camcorder, bought it last year, the type that record right on the little DVD so you can pop it right in the laptop and play it without hooking up the camcorder. Everytime I set it up to record in my E car I can't hardly make it out of the pits and it shuts down. It starts and records fine while I'm in staging and then when I get on track it shuts down. I have been messing with this thing for two years. Is this type of camcorder real sensitive to vibration and it shuts down automatically? I set it on the bench and shake it around and it records fine. Any ideas?

By the way nice video. It sounds like you and Colin had a great time. I hope to go next year with Dan and the guys.

E Racer

I was told by an electronics salesman a couple of years ago that the DVD technology can't take the vibration. (must have been an honest guy, cause he saved me a lot of money)

I use the Mini DV, and still get break-up when using the curb to widen the track.

Definitely buy the extended warranty and service package. Mine just came in very handy when the camera failed after 27 months.
